Description
Meinl Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack Cymbal Pair 18" delivers an aggressive trashy tone perfect for heavy genres. Consisting of two medium-weight cymbals, this stack creates intense, chaotic overtones when struck. The top cymbal has a raw, unlathed finish while the bottom cymbal has a traditional lathed finish, allowing the cymbals to resonate fully when crashed. With an 18" size, these trash stacks cut through loud instrumentation. The Meinl Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack Cymbal Pair 18" is ideal for drummers seeking a loud, gritty sound.
Raw, Unlathed Finish Provides Aggressive Tone
The top cymbal has an unlathed, raw finish that produces abrasive, distorted overtones. When crashed, the unlathed finish results in a harsh, trashy sound suited for heavy music. The raw finish also allows the cymbals to open up over time, developing a more complex tone. For drummers wanting an instantly abrasive trash stack, the Meinl Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack Cymbal Pair 18" delivers.
Medium Weight Offers Controllable Response
With a medium weight, these trash stacks are responsive yet controllable. The medium weight allows drummers to crash the stacks loudly without an unruly, uncontrollable wash of sound. The weight also provides enough volume for cutting through loud bands. For versatility, the medium-weight Meinl Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack Cymbal Pair 18" works well as a main crash or as an accent during drum fills.
18" Size Cuts Through Dense Mixes
At 18" in size, the Meinl Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack Cymbal Pair produces a loud, far-reaching tone that remains audible in dense band mixes and live settings. The large size also provides an expansive spread of sound, enveloping the drum kit in layers of trashy overtones when crashed. For any genre where volume and aggression are essential like metal or hard rock, the sizable Meinl Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack Cymbal Pair 18" is ideal.
Additional Features and Specifications

Bought this 12" Trash Stack because it sounded incredible in the local Guitar Center and I couldn't wait to get home and start beating on it! I wasn't expecting much more from it because I tested it out beforehand but WOW! The sound quality and the tone got even better! It's trashy and washy with a punchy attack and a pretty quick decay. The bummer was the volume also got a boost which isn't a bad thing, it just was too much for my taste so I returned after a brief session with no questions asked. Thank you GC staff for the excellent customer service..
Love it!

I use this stack near my ride cymbal. It adds so much color to my sound. It has a nice crisp short attack.

I first purchased the classic custom 16" stack but the sound was not exactly what I was expecting. Too much like a closed high hat. I bought this 12" stack to play around in combination of whatever got me the sound I was looking for with what I have in my arsenal. Turns out splitting the two stacks with the 12" trash splash on the 16" trash crash bell up and the 12" mini china on the 16" trash china bell down is exactly what I was looking for! They are two perfectly matched but individually sounding stacks that pair perfect. I could not be happier with this setup!
I would of bought a larger size but I still like it a lot
