Be smart, buy this and upgrade components!
This comes with absolutely everything you need to get started and if you want to simply play drums, it will do the trick. However, it is also very easy to make this kit sound many times better than out of the box if you're strategic without spending too much money. As an intermediate drummer I'm extremely happy with this purchase because, as I'd hoped, it is very easy to upgrade parts as you need. The most immediate upgrades you'll need are undoubtedly cymbals, then maybe the snare heads, hoops, snare wires (although it can sound phenomenal out of the box if you tune it right). Then maybe a bass drum head and a riser to make the bass drum sit higher. I got a bass drum beater from ACD Unlimited which made the pedal that this kit comes with feel like a proper bass drum. The Evans Emad bass drum head is a MUST. I have spent much more on cymbals than any other upgrades, and if you get used cymbals you can save a lot of money there. My kit sounds quite good and I would have had to spend much more if I had started with a different set. If you're an enthusiast or a beginner, this is an unbelievable value for money. If you're intermediate, you can still do wonders with this kit. If you're a professional then you can still probably make it work for gigs and practice but I can't speak so much to that and those guys probably aren't looking in this price range.

Don't waste your money on this kit!!
Thought would be manufactured a lot better then it was, I'm a professional drummer, I would not recommend this kit to anyone!! Untunable and would be hard for someone with out any knowledge of drums to set up. Nothing works right especially getting as drum pedal tight as it bends easy when tightened all the way. Cymbal was hard to get into a good spot to be functional for playing. I bought this for my kids thinking it would be better then other brands and the only reason I don't return it, is because it was a Christmas present. Soul or another brand will be just as good if not better. Make sure kit has even amount of lugs for tuning, and a cymbal stand, not one coming off tom mount.

Got these for my kids to play. Easy to put together. They sound good enough, and I'm sure could sound better with some after-market heads and someone who knew how to tune better than I do.
Fun little kit

My wife and I got this kit for our 5 year old daughter. It's still a smidge big for her, but she's a tiny little thing. Overall I'm happy with it. Now she has her own kit and her feet can reach the pedals. There was some rust on the high hat hardware threds which was frustrating.
If you know whatt ur doin this kit can be changed to fab

I have been drumming for over 60 years, purchased this for our grandsons age 6 & 8, but I wouldn't hesitate to take it to small venue or jazz club, playing with better batter heads and upgraded cymbals.
