LsL Instruments Saticoy 22 6-String Electric Guitar Silver Sparkle over 3SB Saticoy

Thanks to Edward Burke at the San Francisco guitar Center. I was able to get this guitar for a great deal. I changed the strings, did a bit of set up and actually recorded a song with the guitar today on logic. It is hard for me to articulate the level of quality on this instrument. The other review mentions the neck pick up, he is absolutely right it is simply a phenomenal sounding pick up. This guitar does not suffer from the homogenous sound often associated with a Floyd Rose equipped guitar. You can still get vintage inspired sounds out of it. I cannot recommend this brand or this guitar enough.

I had a feeling this was going to be an excellent guitar. LSL has a fantastic reputation, and hey, who could pass up a Cactus Sparkle over Sunburst finish? Add in a floating Floyd Rose, a super comfortable satin finished flame maple neck and fingerboard, a feisty humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils that are smooth AND stinging all at once, and I'm doing my best to pick my jaw up off the floor. What truly surprised me most is that often, an HSS Strat style with locking trem configuration has a very overdriven, aggressive tone. The wind on the humbucker in this Saticoy has a very unique tonality, almost like a melding of the best Tele and Strat overwinds you'll ever hear. I LOVE using Telecasters for rhythm guitar tracking, and this just gave me a new option that's transparent and thick all at once; sounds amazing with an EL34 based circuit. I am also impressed with the single coil pickups; it's hard not to view the neck pickup as THE go-to soloing option; fat, biting and musical. Fingerplucked arpeggios with the 2/3/4 positions are pure magic; just add reverb! Do not sleep on LSL or this very unique build. There aren't many of them out there...and you're not getting mine!
