I was very excited about this product when I finally discovered it. I was looking for a pickup to use on my biscuit bridge resonator guitar. Lace has a great reputation and supposedly had designed this pickup for dobro resonators. I try to buy American when possible. When I received the package it said Made In USA in big letter right on the box, this was gonna be good. When I opened it the first thing I noticed were poorly printed letters on the front of the device. Some of the letters for "Lace Sensor" were not completely there. No big deal. The next thing I noticed was that the cheap looking foam tape they had stuck on it was crooked. No bid deal I could fix that. Then when I tried to put it inder the strings it wouldnt fit on one side. I looked under the tape and there was a big wad of epoxy just stuck on there and covered by the tape. This made the height of the thing 5/8 on one end instead of 3/8 like it was supposed to be. Ugly and sloppy. Finally I fixed all those things. I finally was able able to plug it in. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! :( The thing did manage to capture the acoustic nature of the guitar but the Hum and buzz was terrible. It would not be usable for a live performace in front of an audience. Just too Noisy. I hope this is not a representation of Lace's new approach to quality. For something to say so proudly "made in USA" they did a terrible Job.
