LR Baggs

collapse expand iconDescription

Introducing HiFi, a non-invasive pickup design that pairs dual bridge plate sensors with high-fidelity electronics, providing exceptional balance, definition, dynamics, and good feedback resistance. With a simplified peel-and-stick installation, the lightweight pickups preserve the integrity of your instrument’s bridge plate without negatively altering your acoustic tone. The construction, materials, size, and shape of the pickups contribute to a balance between string and body energy that represents the inherent sound of your instrument. Lastly, HiFi’s built-in, studio-quality preamp is voiced to complement the pickups for an optimal plug-and-play experience.

I bought this to install in my less expensive Ibanez Artwood AC240oPN, because I really like how this guitar plays and sounds for my style of playing for church services. I self installed using the instructions and videos. Sounds great and breathes life into this simple guitar.

It was fairly easy to install without having to make any major alterations to my guitar. Removed the strap bottom and drilled the hole out to accommodate for the new input jack. The sound quality and volume is good, comparable to the factory install system on other acoustic/electric.

I just had this installed on my 1998 Martin 12 string. Previously on the guitar I had a Fishman thin line pick up installed. Pretty much just a plug and play type pick up, no volume control, no tone control, under the saddle pick up. I had it installed back in 98, decided to stop working one day. Was looking around for a pick up to replace it. My guitar tech that I have do all the work on my guitars suggested the LR Baggs pick up. After doing some research I gave them a call and they suggested trying out the hi-fi. The gentleman at the company said that it was released in 23, and it got great reviews. I could not be happier with the sound that comes out of my guitar now. When it's plugged in, it's genuinely a new guitar. I was a little bit worried at first about how it would sound. But each string is evenly balanced and blends very well. The tone knob allows for good adjustment, it is subtle, but you can hear a very big difference from one side of it to the other. The guitar plays and sounds great. Like I said, it genuinely sounds like a different guitar now when it's plugged in. Get this pickup. The install is very tricky. At least on a 12 string it is. Looking at the videos on a six string, the install is pretty straightforward it seems. Again, I did not do this, but guitar tech I've been going to for a couple decades now installed it for me, he said it was tedious.

I had just bought a Sigma 12 string. I was looking for a 12 string for a while. Anyway it sounds amazing but I needed to put a pickup in it. I have fishman on my other Martin guitars. I came across LR Baggs and I have read reviews and my band members have them. So I looked them up and seen this Hi Fi that is new. Read the reviews and watched videos on it. And I ordered it. I installed it myself. And wow ! It's an amazing pickup. It picks up every note ever thing that is played on the strings is picked up. I love it. I bought a second one and put it in my 1999 D-28. Removed the Fishman and installed the Baggs and my 28 sounds so much fuller. I am so happy with this product. Thank you LR Baggs and Guitar center.

Can this pick up be fitted on a Recording King Dirty 30's Series 7000 4 string tenor guitar?

Can this pick up be fitted on a Recording King Dirty 30's Series 7000 4 string tenor guitar?

The LR Baggs HiFi system is designed for steel-string acoustic guitars with standard-sized bridge plates (usually found in 6-string acoustics). The Recording King Dirty 30’s Series 7000 is a 4-string tenor guitar, which: Has a smaller bridge plate than most 6-string guitars. May have different internal bracing or bridge plate shape that could affect how the pickup sensors sit and perform. he HiFi pickup uses two sensors that adhere to the underside of the bridge plate. These sensors need: A flat and stable area of sufficient size. Easy access for installation (some guitars with smaller bodies or bracing patterns can make this difficult). Depending on the internal bracing of the Series 7000, you may or may not have enough room to install both sensors properly. Tenor guitars have a different voicing and tonal response than 6-string guitars, so even if the pickup fits physically: The tonal balance might need EQ tweaking. LR Baggs tunes their systems for 6-string instruments, so response curves might not be optimal without adjustments.

I have a 2018 j45 with the lr braggs system of some sort. Is this an improvement over what was installed from the factory in my 2018 J45 Gibson AG? I hate the feedback and sound from the factory installed Lr Braggs.

It will not be that much. Feedback has to do with the room, volume and speaker placement, not the pup. This is a top shelf pup. What do you hate about you current set up?
