LR Baggs

collapse expand iconDescription

The Element Active System Undersaddle Acoustic Pickup from LR Baggs delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle guitar pickup. The streamlined and efficient design of the acoustic guitar pickup removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the LR Baggs pickup's transducer for a robust, lively, and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.

The Element Active System pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume control for added convenience and versatility. The entire acoustic microphone and guitar pickup system is designed to install easily and features plug-and-play performance. Also included with the Element Active System is LR Bagg's Battery Bagg for secure storage.

I installed this guy on my Gibson gospel and either I did something wrong on the install (can't see how it's pretty simple) or it's just not that great. Compared to the fishman in my j45 it's too quiet. It doesn't cut through the mix on stage and when you turn it up it just howls with a low end feedback. And that is with or without a sound hole cover. I'm at a loss here on this guy.

I've tried many pickups. This one sounds the best and gives you lots of volume without feedback

  • Great sound, and I love the volume wheel in the sound hole.

I replaced the "PlugnPlay" pickup in my GS Mini with this LR Baggs, and the difference is amazing. Richer sound and no interference hum!

  • Highly recommend

Introduced to this pickup via my Gibson J45RW...gotta say I love the sound...very natural sounding. Just bought another LR Baggs Element pickup from Guitar Center online and had it installed in a Guild DV52 that had a high end Fishman pickup and preamp system in it when I purchased it used. Although this Guild sounded excellent unplugged I did not like the sound of the pickup and preamp that was in it. Way too artificial and "pingy".... The LR Baggs Element pickup changed everything... Now my Guild is a complete workhorse..sounds great onstage and off... I'm very pleased

Can you leave the guitar cable plugged into your guitar? Does this have a sleep mode, or will it drain the battery if you don't unplug? How do you know your battery's dying?

You cannot leave it plugged in, It will drain overnight. The instrument will begin to distort when the battery begins to die. Low notes will be the first.
