KAT Percussion

Description

The KT-KP1 Kick Trigger Pad is specially made to work with the KAT KTMP1 Multipad by way of a kick pedal. The unit also works great with all common piezo input trigger interfaces and drum modules with a piezo trigger input. It extends the sound triggering capability of the KTMP1 by providing bass drum operation using this unit along with a standard bass drum pedal.

It works fine for a digital device.

  • Good, but needs some tweaking.

I bought this little gizmo to go along with my KAT multipad which I purchased from a Guitar Center store. I love my multipad and I wanted to expand it to more of a "full kit" sound by purchasing this. The component itself worked great with the multipad and it was easy to connect. My main hangup is that the beater is not striking "dead center" on trigger. I still get a bass drum sound, but I don't have the response that I'm looking for because it is hitting more of the edge of the sensor. I've tried adjusting it and the angle of it. I've also tried several different base drum pedals--even one with and without floor plates. I'm going to try heating up the shaft of the beater and bending it slightly so that it strikes the sensor correctly...hopefully that will help.

  • Good pad, iffy beater

I wanted to get a second kick pedal set up for my Alesis DM7x. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to find the Stealthkick 2 anywhere aside from Alesis. I saw this and it looked exactly like the Alesis pad, so I got it and a normal kick pedal to go along with it. The pad seems exactly like the Alesis one, which is a good thing. It does exactly what I need it to do, and it does it well. The beater is a little bouncy for my liking, and I don't really care for the "tennis ball" aesthetic. That's just me. You might love it. For now it does what it's supposed to, though, so I'll be leaving it as is.

    Is this a universal module?

I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. This is a trigger. This is what you 'send' to a module.
