Entheos' Tim Walker — Jackson JS Series Spectra Basses | Featured Demo | Jackson Guitars

Description
The Spectra Bass JS3Q provides a sound that is as unique as the bassist playing it. Whether it be funk, hard rock or gospel, dual passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups create a monstrous low-end growl, while a HiMass bridge provides rock-solid stability, improved sustain and bolder tone.
Tone can be further refined and tweaked with a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band EQ (active only), blend control and volume control (with push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the 3-band EQ).
With the push/pull selector, you’ll never have to fear a battery running out and losing sound. A quick pull on the volume knob will bypass the active circuit, making it easy to regain sound from the bass without the use of battery power.
Offering more boom for your buck, the 4-string, 34"-scale Spectra Bass JS3Q comes in an all-new vibrant Amber Blue Burst finish with black nickel hardware and a unique Jackson 2x2 headstock with an understated J logo. Case sold separately.

Borderline false advertising but it plays great. For the price tag it's better than expected.
Great out of the ordinary bass for any skill level

Looks great, well-balanced, very nice neck, flexible electronics, lots of good sounds. Jackson packed a lot of upscale ideas and features into the design of this bass, it is addictive. Not just another mid-priced 4 string. So easy to play it almost feels like a short scale. The F bass, Modulus, and Fender Jaguar are back in their cases for a while. Of course this has its limits but it's so much fun to play with a good amp I keep picking it up first! Definitely punches above it's weight. Saw it on the wall in a local Guitar Center and played around with it, had to come back the next day first thing and buy it. Check it out!

This bass is just great, you should try it, is not necessary for a beginner player but any bass player, its great construction and finishes allow versatile uses. The best for me is the active/passive system, the low battery is not and issue on stage anymore. The only thing I had to made was some adjustments because the strings and frets made some buzzing sounds.
Great Bass

I am pretty new to playing bass. I know this was a little ambitious for a first buy, but I figured I should start on an instrument that I won't outgrow for a while. I do have to say, there is a bit of learning curve with this instrument, but I have had a lot of fun discovering the capabilities of this bass while I am learning to play and I definitely am happy I bought it.
I love this bass!

Ever since I saw this bass online, I have been reading up on everything I could find about it. The pics of this instrument are gorgeous, and I was tempted to buy it online. However, I decided to be patient and go see, touch, and play one to make sure it isn't just a "looker". I went to Guitar Center in Scottsdale to check it out. OH MY! this bass is not only a work of art, it is beautiful sounding bass guitar as well. The electronics are quality feeling, and the range of tones you can achieve are awesome. When I show family and friends my newest baby, they all smile and eyes go BIG! Everyone responds the same. I Love this Bass!
Wow.....Not just "best bass in this price range"...

It says in the specs page that is has passive pickups, but later down says it has a slider for active and passive selection, so does it have only passive pickups or is it able to switch between active and passive?
This does have active pickups. Thanks for bringing this to our attention
