Ibanez SR500EPB Electric Bass Guitar Flat Brown Burst

The Ibanez SR500EPB electric bass guitar offers bassists a sleek, lightweight instrument with professional-level performance. Featuring a sculpted okoume body, slender 5-piece jatoba/walnut neck and Bartolini BH2 pickups, this SR bass produces rich, balanced tone with tight low end and pronounced midrange. The Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ provides precise tonal control with a 3-way mid switch (250Hz, 450Hz and 700Hz) and EQ bypass for passive mode. With its B500 bridge offering +/-1.5 mm string-spacing adjustment, the SR500EPB answers the needs of any playing style. The SR500EPB electric bass is a thoroughly modern bass ready to handle any musical situation.
Slim Yet Stable Neck Enables Effortless Playability
The SR500EPB's 5-piece jatoba/walnut neck is thin yet sturdy, offering superior playability and easy access to higher frets. Its smooth, fast profile provides a familiar feel for most bassists.
Bartolini Pickups Produce a Warm, Balanced Tone
Equipped with dual-coil Bartolini BH2 pickups, the SR500EPB delivers a warm, balanced tone with rich lows, pronounced mids and crisp highs. The BH2 pickups have a lower resonant frequency, resulting in a tight low end and full midrange.
3-Band EQ Provides Precise Tonal Control
The Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ allows you to shape your tone with its bass, mid and treble controls and 3-way mid frequency switch (250Hz, 450Hz and 700Hz). When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble control becomes a global tone control for the passive circuit.
Adjustable Bridge Answers Every Need
The SR500EPB's B500 bridge offers adjustable saddles with +/-1.5 mm spacing, allowing you to customize string spacing for your playing style and hands. The bridge also provides easy neck adjustment without loosening the strings.

This is a very nice bass. Beautiful wood body! Well made with a fantastic feel and playing ease. The neck can't be beat. If you are after a thinner, brighter sound, this is the bass for you. I prefer a fatter, punchier sound that I get from my Fender Jazz. Don't get me wrong; I love to play the Ibanez, and for some tunes it fits perfectly. Maybe the addition of flat wounds would get closer to the sound I'm looking for.

I had a question on what all of the switches and the nobs do on the bass. I have one of the basses that i purchased but I don't know how to operate the switches and tone nobs. i know that the top two are volume and tone control but what do the switches do and what do the lower three nobs do?
It has a Low - Mid - and Hi eq knob. a Volume and balance pot. The lower toggle is a mid cut/boost. The top one turns the pre amp on/off.submitted3 years ago
