Whether you're exploring deep, rich low-end tones or crisp high-end clarity, the SR400EQM excels in any genre.
PowerSpan Dual Coil Pickups for Dynamic Tone
The SR400EQM is equipped with Ibanez's PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups, designed to increase higher frequency response while maintaining a rich low end. The exposed pole pieces deliver a stronger signal, resulting in a tone full of harmonic detail and dynamic expression. Paired with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, this bass allows for precise tone shaping, from deep lows to crisp highs, ensuring that your sound is always clear and powerful.
3-Way Power Tap Switch for Tonal Versatility
With the 3-way Power Tap switch, the SR400EQM offers three distinct tonal personalities. Players can choose between a rich humbucker sound, a pure single-coil sound or an enhanced single-coil sound that blends lows from the humbucker pickup. This versatility makes the SR400EQM ideal for any style of music, allowing you to dial in the perfect tone for any playing situation.
Superior Playability With Premium Features
The 5-piece maple/walnut neck ensures tonal clarity and superior attack, while the jatoba fretboard adds a rich midrange with crisp highs. The quilted maple top enhances the overall aesthetic and sonic response, while the nyatoh body provides a warm, resonant tone. Big bad beautiful bass
Got bored with the dull sound, so went to GC and traded in my old Squire P bass, and upgraded to this. What a difference. It plays fast, lots of action and fun to play. A lot of tone options on the bass itself, and it has a battery powered tone switch as well. Combined with my combo amp a lot more variety of tones and MUCH better pickups and sound quality than my old P bass. Had a little fret buzz but took it to GC and they did a quick truss rod adjustment and problem solved! Love this bass, a lot of fun and it actually helps me play a lot better than I did with the Squire. Also, the fretboard is 2 full octaves, so if you capo the 12th fret you have a little mini bass to play! Overall a great affordable bass.

Fret Buzz and bad quality control
Bought this for my son as his first bass to play in his jazz band. It was a Christmas present for him. After opening it, we noticed horrible fret buzz on the first two frets of the top string. We brought it into Guitar Center to have them look at it and the tech tried several things to fix it but could not get it right. I should have immediatley returned it but the tech was able to do something to get it to play OK. He didsay there was something wrong with the nut nd how it was installed and would require a breakdown to completely fix. So the plan was to see if his fix would hold but it did not. Brought it back today to see if they can either replace it or fix it but the tech was off for the day. And the manager could not help. So we have a bass that does not work for my son who has his jazz band concert this coming weekend. Wish I had bought the pro plan which would have allowed me to return this but now I am stuck fighting to get someone to fix this properly. Will bring it back this week to see what they can do. But if you buy, make sure you buy the extra coverage!!

I bought this open box came with a small chip at the top of the headstock. No problems I never see that area anyway. It sounds great and plays fine. I love the color. I'm a happy camper.

Volume knob is spongy and a couple other knobs were installed loose. Needed a truss rod adjustment out of the box as well. It sounds fine and is fun to play but the quality is a disappointment. I have several other Ibanez guitars and they are all fine.

Will this bass play without a battery? I'm confused about the passive pickups but active EQ.
This bass has passive pickups, so it would be able to play without a battery.
