I played pretty much every Bass in the store and this one kept coming back into my hands. Plays easily, stays in tune, sounds amazing, and is simply a beautiful instrument. The price is quite good as well. Ibanez makes great guitars and this SR305EDX is no exception. Seasoned players may find faults, but unless you're a professional bassist, you'll love this bass.

I absolutely loved the look of this bass, and reviews on the SR305 have been stellar, however unfortunately this particular one was mostly just a headache. It arrived with a couple of the knobs fallen off. I didn't realize at the time they could just be tighened back on with an allen wrench, but that was a QA miss. My local GC took care of it without question. Once I got to playing on it, the intonation just kept slipping. I had it into the GC store twice after that initial time for intonation fixes and some string stretch, but had to adjust the bridge myself about 5 more times in the next few weeks. At my wits end, I took it to a friend who's a professional luthier who informed me that the build quality wasn't stellar. The fretboard was extremely dry and the frets themselves showed signs of wear, probably from bouncing around during shipment. Not acceptable for a brand new purchase. With all these issues, I unfortunately had to return it, even though in the end, we might have finally gotten the intonation issues mostly worked out. When it IS in tune, it sounds fantastic. Based on other reviews, I'm guessing I just got a lemon, but based on this experience, I can't recommend it.
