Ibanez

Description

Professional players and gear reviewers alike have been singing the praises of Ibanez SR Premium series bass guitar since their introduction. Crafted by the Ibanez Premium luthiers, the SR2600 series share many of the high-end appointments of the much-respected Prestige line.

This extraordinary attention to detail manifests itself in features like super-smooth hand-crimped frets, and the Mono-rail 5S bridge enables a wider intonation adjustment range, and each isolated saddle is securely locked to the body for maximum vibration transfer with minimal sympathetic string interference.

The principal feature of the new bridge is the saddles can be adjusted for various string spacing. The bridge was developed in an effort to meet the needs of various players who enjoy different string spacing. The saddles can be easily adjusted to widen or tighten the string spacing by +/-1.5 mm.

The SR2600’s African mahogany body combined with an elegant Poplar burl top creates a solid, well-balanced tone. The five-piece Atlas neck consists of alternating layers of panga panga/maple/paduak/purpleheart/walnut neck, providing a striking visual detail, not to mention neck stability for years to come.

In spite of this impressive hit list of exotic materials, this Premium bass stays true to the original SR concept: being surprisingly light in weight—a noticeable contrast to the instrument’s thick sonic character. That big, bold, tonal personality is due largely to a pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups—the kind well acquainted with boutique instruments.

No matter what musical texture is desired, the Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, with EQ bypass and mid-frequency switch, will get there fast.  A case is sold separately.

I love this bass. I opened the packaging and was in awe. I was afraid to touch it because it was absolutely beautiful. When I hooked it up, and after my adjustments, the tone was exactly what I was looking for. And, it's so comfortable to play. The only thing, the output jack is on the face. Not sure how I feel about that yet. I'm sure I'll get used to it. Very happy.

I've been playing now for a few years and I own three Ibanez basses. They're all special to me in their own right. My SR 2600 though has such a smooth and skinny neck that I just enjoy how easy it is to move around the fretboard. The electronics on board are phenomenal, I especially love the Nordstrand pickups. You can balance your sound with three pots bass, mid, and treble. There's a switch for passive and active and a three way switch for different frequencies as well 250hz, 450hz, and 700hz. A must for anybody who appreciates great craftsmanship, awesome sound and feel, with an incredibly beautiful look. I love this bass! 🙂❤️
