I'm an old dude that has little dexterity in my hands now. That plus being left-handed and trying to play right while losing my hearing make it challenging to play guitar.
Nice gift for my daughter

Bought this so my daughter (with small hands) could learn to use it to accompany my 7 year old granddaughter who is making the rounds in Texas Western Swing style competitions and winning most of them!
I love mine!

I love this guitar. Arthritis had hampered my playing, but four strings makes it easier. Mine is tuned DGBE. I've also added a single coil pickup too it, electrifying it. Unbelievable fun!
Really nice affordable tenor guitar.

I like Ibanez products. I think they make good stuff for reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised at what a great little tenor guitar this is for under $200. It's not very loud but it has a sweet sound. It plays beautifully and the intonation is good.
Good value

Good price. Nice finish and detail. As I'm a lefty I appreciated that the right-handed pick guard wasn't glued on well, making it easier to remove and toss away.
good sound

Good sound and nice finish. Frets are a bit rough and pick guard has a sharp top edge as its not glued on a tiny spot. But nothing takes away from the sound and looks.

What would it take to tune this tenor guitar G-D-A-E? How would the strings need to change? If at all.

I am seriously considering learning the cello. I haven't played a stringed instrument, only brass. Due to physical constraints, I'm considering the tenor guitar due to the four strings and cello tuning CGDA as a precursor to the cello. Is this a dumb idea? Music; ear; positions, etc.
This may be a lot easier to play, especially while starting out. The seated position is easier for a lot compared to the upright position of the cello.submitted3 years ago

Can both of the Tenor guitars from Ibanez be tuned DGBE? Or do they need to be restrung? If so how much extra for good quality strings?
You should be alright to tune it to DGBE, I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work.submitted7 years ago

Does this guitar come with steel or nylon strings? It's not clear from the web page or photos.
These are steel strings. Thank you.
