Ibanez

Description

The Ibanez Artcore AF75 hollowbody electric guitar has a fully bound, all-maple hollow body that provides tight resonance without feedback. The Ibanez AF75 is truly a full-hollowbody guitar (no soundblock), perfect for that muted jazz tone and fully flexible for everything from alt-rock to pounding punk. Mahogany set neck with bound laurel fretboard and pearl block inlay is a delight to the digits. An ACH1 humbucker at the neck and ACH2 at the bridge provide a beefy, quiet signal with pronounced mids.

This Guitar Is Easily Worth Twice the Price

I was looking at a few different hollow-bodies (Epiphone, Gretsch & Ibanez). The Epiphones were nice, but too heavy for me because I jump around onstage a lot. The Gretsches were nice as well, but I own an Electromatic that has problems staying in tune, and the nut had to be replaced after a year and a half of playing it, so I was wary of picking up another Gretsch. I chose the Ibanez AF75, and for almost two years now, it's been a perfect fit. It has a very full, classic hollow-body sound (and look), and is easy to play. It stays in tune for the whole gig, and, unlike a lot of other hollow-bodies I've played, it never feels fragile or breakable. My only (very small) criticism is that there's no master volume control - just one for each pickup. FYI, I'm a rhythm guitarist, so if you play lead, you should read other reviews as well.

Was ready to buy this one

But was dissapointed with the sound quality of the pickups. Bought an Epiphone Dot instead. If you are looking for a warm fat sound, my advice, look at the Epiphone as well as this before you buy. The guitar looks very good, has a good neck and seems to be built with quality.

I bought this guitar around ten years ago and have had it ever since. It grabbed my attention with how good it sounded unplugged. It can be a little too loud though. If you play with the guitar higher up, it might drown out your amp in relation to your ears unless the amp is up loud.

I love this guitar! I have had it for a week and cannot put it away! The first guitar I owned was a Epiphone hollow body that was given to me by a friend who got a telecaster for his birthday. I started playing Fenders and like him I passed the Epiphone on to a friend. Recently I have wanted to go back to my roots. After months of searching I came across this Ibanez and found it had a lot of what I was looking for. It is light weigh, well balanced and sounds great! OH did I mention the price was right? Plug it in and it will go from blues to KILLER ROCK with the snap of a finger. The one thing you should keep in mind is that it has a floating bridge. Therefore intonation is accomplished by moving the bridge.

I'm just a home recording artist, but I wanted a guitar with a smooth, classic sound and this guitar delivers. I have owned it for about 8 years, in the transparent red. Such a gorgeous instrument. The looks alone are enough to impress folks, and the sound and tone keep them smiling. If only my meager playing skills were as beautiful...

i think every thing is great about, like i said I'm 11 but i really picked it up, i thing this would be great for another one of my concerts and i really hope i get this guitar. This axe is as bad as king kong, really love the movement and color that was put and carved into this, i think this would be a wonderful tool for the many musicians out there and i sure as heck know i want it.

Hi, What's the factory string gauge for the artcore AF75? According to Sweetwater is .010.-.052? Can I put some .011, or will it need recalibration for that. Also for a more jazzy tone is it better flatwound or roundwound. Which brand do you recomend the most? Best, Danni

    Open Reply -
Yes, this guitar comes with gauge 10 - 52 but doesn't need to be recalibrated if you choose to use a different gauge. Flatwound strings would be ideal for a jazzy tone. D'addario strings would be the recommended brand but any brand would work well.
