Makes live feasible

Now here is the first iPad interface I have tried, that has such low latency that you can play live with it. I do have a new iPad Mini, so that helps too. It sounds magical, plays with GarageBand and is easy to use. On the negative side: in order to charge while using, you have to buy an extra gizmo, which is not inexpensive; and while your serial # unlocks extra stuff in AmpliTube, they still want to charge for a lot of stuff. Overall winner. BTW, the GB amp and pedal models sound delicious, so you can probably survive without giving AmpliTube more of your money!

Nice hardware-horrid software

So here's why I give it 2 stars. The hardware is nice. It's much better than the original iRig. The problem, despite IK Multimedia's quick response time to support requests, is they NEVER FIX THE PROBLEM! Their prefab response is always to reinstall software. Reset iPhone. Reset iPad. Resinstall again and the most annoying; "we've never heard this complaint before. You're the only one. " Sorry guys. No way. The multitrack crashes when it renders. The FX pack presets are always overloaded with gear you don't have. It's an annoying minefield of a ride, my friends. I'm giving up on IK.

It died after 4 years. it has a two year warranty. considering that my older iRig 2 works fine, I would not buy another iRig HD 2 or the newer versions. they clearly arent maintaining the quality of their products. I would look at competitive products first.

I have had more than one interface, this one is compact and flexible with I/O options for Mac,PC and iOS that is a slick factor I had to have. The latency is negligible and the audio feels crisp and clear.

I love this for putting down quick songs that I don't want to forget. The problem is they are really fragile. I've now had 2 crap out on me. I can hear something inside rattling around. Super disappointed at how flimsy it is. They really need to step up the quality

  • A lot of fun so far!

I read previous reviews about it, positive and negative, and decided it was worth a try in that it's not crazy expensive and I felt the pros outweighed the cons. Although I haven't explored all the features available yet, I can say this: the setup was simple, the interface works perfectly, and it's been nothing but fun so far-very user friendly! Looking forward to seeing how Garage Band fares with it, Tonebridge and AmpliTube work just fine so far. Physically, it isn't built to take much abuse, then again I didn't buy it to use as a hammer. Picked up a small foam lined case for it, and plan to make something that will be secured easily to an amp/whatever that will minimise stress on the cables/box. I'd say it's a great choice for anyone looking for a reasonably inexpensive interface with a lot of features that is very plug and play ready.

If you don't need audiophile-esque quality when recording music and don't drop everything you own on concrete everyday this interface is probably the right one for you!

Does this come with USB-C for use with the new iPad Pro? I'm using different connectors and can't get Apogee Jam+ to work -- iPad shows input and output levels, but no sound either from the iPad speakers or through headphones.

This interface does come with a USB-C port, so it should work with the Ipad Pro.

It's not bluetooth compatible, you would need a cable with USB on one end and whatever the connection is for the phone/tablet on the other.
