Got the guitar to sound ok- way too much bass with my Gibson CL-35 Deluxe (1997 predecessor of songwriter). Vocals sound horrible. I was unable to get the EQ to get a clear vocal sound(using a telefunken M80 microphone)!Way too much bass! Effects are terrible! Way overpriced and overrated! I do not recommend!

  • Great amp, Really BAD tech/customer service

This is a beautiful amp. Lightweight and small and packs a punch. Clear, crisp and true. It will showcase the sound of your acoustic guitar. Need very little eq tweaking to get this amp to sing. However... that said, the buyer should beware, although this is a stunning sounding amp, the company, in Germany, does not offer any tech help. The speaker blew out on mine and after repeated emails to the company they never contacted me back. It shouldn't be so hard to get a speaker replacement but boy let me tell ya, it was over 2 week of trying to find the right 8", 4 ohm, 250 speaker. This should be so hard it it's not exactally a common configuration. I did end up finding one, which actually sounds better than the Sica speaker that came with it. 3 weeks later I finally have a working amp again. Not cool for a working musician. Great amp but really bad customer/ tech service from Germany.

I bought this amp two days ago, still test driving it and learning about the functions. I am a singer/song writer, I own a few high end Taylors and a Martin. They sound amazing, amplified with this, maintains the beautiful acoustic tone. Vocals are great too, and with presets and being able to dial up/down the amount. I use a Sennheiser e935 for my vocals and I have no complains. I play in coffee houses etc, and I already have a Bose L1 compact system /Tone Match and a Roland AC33. So far the above H&K Era 1 is the king.
