Hercules

collapse expand iconDescription

The TravLite Series for violin or viola is a truly exciting stand that is as sturdy as they come. Two features that really set this stand apart are a tray for rosin and Hercules' Auto Grip System (AGS). The small removable tray keeps a cake of rosin or other small accessory close. The AGS uses the weight of the instrument to activate arms which secure the violin while on the stand. By simply lifting the instrument the arms release for easy removal. All contact points are wrapped in soft Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) for protection from scratches. The Hercules DS571BB Violin/Viola Stand is made of aluminum and features a sturdy tripod base. An extended arm has room for two bows and the stands folds easily into an included carrying bag.

This product serves its purpose. I bought a new electric violin that does not fit any of my previous stands due to its shape. I wish this stand could be as sturdy as the Hercules stand that I use for my acoustic guitar. This one seems to have more plastic going on, so I am wondering if it will last. I like that it comes with a little bag for carrying the stand.

This is a good product. The stand does what it is supposed to do. My rosin doesn't fit, but it an odd shape. My only caution is that the user make sure the tripod properly seated before putting the violin or viola on it.
