Guild
Description

The Guild Polara solidbody electric guitar struts exceptional sonic versatility and playing comfort. Its sleek mahogany body not only looks fantastic, but also enriches notes with resonant warmth. Uncovered HB-2+ humbuckers feature Alnico V magnets to articulate picking dynamics and add vintage-inspired character. The Polara's string-thru body boosts resonance and sustain, transmitting vibrant string vibration through the mahogany. Its set neck design brings tremendous stability and playing ease. The rosewood fingerboard facilitates smooth, speedy riffing, while a modern U-shaped neck profile caters to chording and soloing alike. Plug into the Guild Polara and unlock expressive, singing tone.

Sleek Mahogany Body Resonates With Warmth

The Polara's contoured mahogany body looks fantastic and feels ultracomfortable. Mahogany's inherent resonance enriches each note with lush depth and vintage character. Weighing next to nothing, the Polara won't weigh you down on stage. Its sleek offset shape not only turns heads, but also hugs the body for fatigue-free playing. Sculpted arm and forearm contours maximize playing ease. Whether you're jamming at home or captivating an audience, the Polara's ergonomic mahogany body makes playing a pleasure.

String-Thru Body Sustains Endlessly

The Polara's strings pass straight through the body, transmitting vibrant string resonance through the mahogany for massive sustain. Its diagonal string layout pairs perfectly with the compensated stop bar tailpiece, a design pioneered by Guild in the 1970s. Chords ring out with incredible richness, decaying slowly and musically. Single notes sing with exceptional resonance. Let your ideas shine through with the Polara's singing sustain.

Set Neck Offers Stability and Comfort

The Polara's set mahogany neck delivers tremendous stability for perfect intonation along the length of the fingerboard. Its seamless joint also enhances resonance and sustain. The smooth rosewood fingerboard facilitates speedy riffing with a fast, comfortable feel. A modern U-shaped neck profile provides the perfect contour for chording and soloing. The Polara plays like a dream right out of the box, inspiring creativity with its exceptional comfort.

Uncovered HB-2+ Humbuckers Articulate Dynamics

Oversized Guild HB-2+ humbuckers serve up exceptional clarity and character. Their uncovered design exposes the Alnico V magnets, capturing string vibration with enhanced sensitivity for articulate dynamics. Compared to the original Guild HB-1, the HB-2+ pickups boast higher output to cut through a mix. Their vintage-voiced tonality adds pleasing warmth, while black pole pieces lend an eye-catching esthetic. Dial in anything from glassy cleans to raunchy overdrive with the master volume and tone controls.

Striking Color Options Stand Out on Stage

Available in bold finishes like Phantom Green, Blue Steel and Voltage Yellow, this Polara makes a vibrant visual statement on stage. The gloss finish not only looks fantastic, but it protects the mahogany body from dings and scratches during transport and performance. This is one guitar that is sure to turn heads.

Quality Hardware for Great Tuning Stability

The Polara comes equipped with a Tune-o-matic bridge and Rotomatic tuners for excellent tuning stability even during heavy use. The nickel hardware matches the gloss finish nicely. The no-frills hardware setup keeps the focus on smooth playing feel and great tone.

  • A Solid, No-nonsense SG Alternative

I purchased my first Polara because it was priced right and because I've been eye-balling the Kim Thayil model but couldn't justify the price. This guitar feels quality! The electronics are solid, the body (esp. the neck heel) is perfect, and Voltage Yellow is a real head turner.

This compares well to the upper end Eppiphone SG models at full price, and I managed to get it on sale! No other neck-thru is comparable for the money!

Bought a Gibson Les Paul special. Felt like it isn't for me and started playing Gibson SG's. But then saw this and thought I would try it out before getting rid of the special. Insanely good quality. Rosewood board, incredible intonation and tuning stability. Fit and finish perfect. Lighter than an SG. I could go on forever. Stupidly good quality for less than a quarter cost of a Gibson SG standard. Do not sleep on this guitar. They nailed this one.

Beautiful guitar that is light weight, great price, great out of the box. I would have paid 5 times more and still felt it was a great deal. I wish there was a Seafoam green finish but the yellow one is just incredible.
