Graph Tech

Description

The Graph Tech Ghost LB-63 Bridge is a drop-in replacement for Floyd Rose Original and licensed bridges. The bridge comes loaded with Ghost piezo crystals encased in String Saver Saddles.

Ghost

By encapsulating custom-engineered piezo crystals in a set of String Saver Saddles, Graph Tech Ghost Saddle Pickups use a natural compression that is very similar to an acoustic guitar. You can play as hard as you want without overloading the input channel or experiencing the dreaded piezo "quack." The Ghost Pickup system provides the benefits of longer string life, improved sustain, and full-bodied tone.

The Graph Tech Ghost LB-63 Bridge and saddles are made of steel. The saddles have piezo inserts made from patented Graph Tech String Saver material. The Ghost LB-63 bridge fits most guitars routed for Floyd Rose Original and Licensed bridges.

I had a sand casted licensed Floyd Rose on an LTD F250 guitar i bought years ago. It taught me to hate Floyd Rose tremolos, releasing strings when it felt like it, barely staying in tune. i even rebuilt the pressure jaws attempting to get it to behave. After installing a fresh set of strings and having it constantly unwind or let go simply trying to tune in to an Eb tuning, i was about ready to can the whole guitar. I've had some good luck with Graph Tech bass parts so as a last ditch effort, i gave this a shot. much to my surprise, it arrived within a couple days and was impressive the moment i took it out of the box. Sturdy, well crafted, clearly superior metal, and the attention to detail was immediately evident. there are even clips in the hole where you insert the string tips that clamp down on the string to keep it in place. Installation was a breeze, most parts completely compatible with existing parts including post threading leaving it up to me whether i replace every aspect of the previous installation or not. I cannot however, comment on the peizo pickup sound yet as that requires a pre-amp installation which is next on the list and the only reason i didn't give it a 5. I've noticed that Graph Tech states that they use 2 different preamps in the ghost bridges (one for acoustic style and one for midi compatibility), however I haven't noticed anything stating that there are BOTH of these preamps in the product decsription -- it just says that it includes a "summing board" (and I don't know if that's referring to both preamps or just one) and only talks about the acoustic preamp in the product description. Does this bridge come with both preamps?
