I purchased a Kramer Barretta Special(which is a modder's dream guitar) and like most budget guitars it came with a cheap plastic nut. Years back I had an old 1987 Kramer Aerostar ZX30(my parents were cheap and no one would hire me back them in the 80's with long hair lol) and it had a plastic nut that broke within less than 2 week of the purchase(which fortunately the shop I bought in from replaced the nut with a bone but) so ever since then I either replace a plastic nut or a buy a guitar that doesn't have a plastic nut. The odd thing about the Kramer Batterra Special is it's now made by Gibson Guitars since they own Kramer so I have to get a Gibson fitted nut rather than a Fender nut even though this guitar was a Strat design. I did some research online and I found this was the closest fitting nut. Since I had no experience with fitting a nut(nor the tools needed to do it properly) I had it taken down to Guitar Center and had their tech trim it, fit it and install it. A word of advise, if you're not sure how to properly install this nut(or any nut on a guitar) have it professionally install because you need the precise measurements and spacing otherwise it won't align with your bridge, pickups, neck and will likely mess up your sound and playability.

I bought this to replace an original nut on a epi les Paul that had broken at the low e string . It does need to be sanded down to adjust string height but after that plays great. The guitar stays in tune better than it ever has.

Beautiful finish, installed at guitar center and the tech did a great job . Installed the bridge , tailpiece combination with TUSQ XL nut and ratio locking tuners on my epiphone florentine semi-hollow les Paul. Sustains better now and looks great!! All products are graphtec and are awesome!!

Most likely but in a case like this we recommend having a qualified guitar tech look at the guitar . There is always the possibility of slight modification .submitted2 years ago
