Description

Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors are a handy tool for guitarists that hate the pain in their fingertips after playing for hours, that have trouble developing callouses or even beginners who haven't been playing long enough to develop them. These provide protection and comfort without sacrificing your finger's natural feel on the fretboard.

IMPORTANT!
For proper fit, first determine your finger size.
1. Wrap a thin paper strip or string around the first joint of your INDEX finger and mark at the overlap point.
2. Measure the length from end to the mark.
3. Compare your measurement with the guide below to determine best fit size.

1 1/2" - 1 3/4" (38-44mm) or less, choose XSmall
1 3/4" - 2" (44-51mm), choose Small
2" - 2 1/4" (51-57mm), choose Medium
2 1/4" (57mm) or greater, choose Large

Eliminates Damaged Nerve Ending Pain

My left hand index finger suffered permanent nerve damage and fingertip disfiguration when crushed in an accident 40 years ago. I quit learning the guitar at the time of the accident but have never lost the desire to play the guitar. I have tried several times over the years to work around the disfigured finger but the sensitivity from the injured nerve endings, and the disfiguration (soft topped no real shape to the tip that spreads and contacts adjacent strings) was always too much to get past. I had very little expectation that this product would work for me but I was very pleasantly surprised. I use the Gorilla Tips on the index finger only. The product for me is amazing in that the thickness of the product that some folks complain about actually works for me in that the product reshapes my finger to a normal tipped shaped finger, and the nerve end sensitivity is amazingly dulled to a very tolerable level. The interesting part is that the skin directly under the gorilla tip is becoming callused at about the same rate as the rest of my fretting fingers.

No all that I hoped for

Tried them and was not too impressed with their usefulness. They do protect the finger tips but I found them difficult to play with. They are somewhat bulky and difficult to move from string to string. Your best bet is to build up fingertip calluses over a few days of playing. While I feel they did not work best for me, they are at a cheap reasonable price and if you have fingertip issues try them and see if they work for you. I would make the tips a little harder, that may make them easier to work the strings with.

    Came apart within an hour of playing... also they fdevelop an air-bubble which makes playing virtually impossible. Dont waste your money.

    I used the gorilla tips to protect my finger tips from hurting while holding down the strings on the frets of my acoustic guitar. The tips did not fit all my fingers so I went to order a smaller size in store. The manager greatly assisted me into not buying any more & solved the issue

    This product helps my fingers not hurt when I play my acoustic because before I had this product it really hurt. These are like a miracle and I love them very much. I highly recommend! I will definitely be buying more in the near future. I am so grateful that I found something that can aid.

    I've played guitar for 25+ years. A few years ago, I cut off part of my index fingertip on my fretting hand. I thought I was done playing guitar. I was devastated. After a few years of trying this and that to help the bad nerve sensations when attempting to play. I found these. Alone they were not enough, but they had helped the most, so far. In conjunction with using a gorilla tip, I purchased a glove meant for bass players. I can once again play. I will need to readjust every so often. I wish someone just plain made finger tip guards for those of us that have had accidents. After my extensive internet research I've seen that there is a market for it.

    I measured the first joint of my index finger at exactly 2 inches, which correlates to both Small and Medium. Which size would you recommend? I'll be using these to play an acoustic guitar. Thanks.

    I would say go with Medium to be on the safe side. Otherwise you'll end up with protectors that are too small.

    The size would probably be large to be on the safe side. You could probably get by with the medium, but the large would be the safer bet.
