Gibson Ultra-Modern Weight-Relieved Mahogany Body for Comfort

The Les Paul Studio Dark's Ultra-Modern weight-relieved mahogany body ensures hours of comfortable play without sacrificing the rich, resonant tone the Les Paul is renowned for. The carved maple top adds brightness and clarity to the instrument's sonic profile, balancing the warmth and midrange punch of the mahogany body. Whether performing on stage or recording in a studio, this construction provides a harmonically rich foundation that excels in capturing subtle dynamics. The weight-relief design not only reduces fatigue, but also enhances the instrument's resonance, making it ideal for longer playing sessions without compromising tone.

Fast-Playing SlimTaper Neck With Premium Components

Equipped with a SlimTaper mahogany neck, this guitar offers a smooth, fast-playing experience that accommodates intricate solos and rhythm work alike. The bound ebony fretboard features a 12" radius, acrylic trapezoid inlays and 22 medium-jumbo frets for effortless navigation across its range. The traditional heel and single-cutaway design provide excellent access to higher frets, making this model well suited for demanding technical performances. With its Graph Tech nut and Vintage Deluxe tuners, this neck guarantees exceptional tuning stability and precise intonation, ensuring a reliable playing experience in every scenario.

Legendary Gibson Burstbucker Pro Pickups With Coil Tapping

The Les Paul Studio Dark features Gibson's Burstbucker Pro pickups, designed to deliver powerful, articulate tones that shine in both clean and overdriven settings. These pickups are wired to individual push/pull volume controls, enabling coil-tapping for a brighter, single-coil sound. Each pickup also has its own tone control, allowing for extensive sonic sculpting and blending possibilities. From warm, vintage-inspired tones to modern, high-gain aggression, the Burstbuckers provide a dynamic range of sounds that suit any musical context. The three-way toggle switch further enhances tonal options, letting you seamlessly transition between neck, bridge or blended settings.

Precision Hardware for Long-Lasting Performance

Built for durability and stability, this guitar features a fully adjustable Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece, ensuring optimal string vibration transfer for maximum sustain. The Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons provide a classic look while maintaining precise tuning, even during aggressive playing. The Graph Tech nut enhances tuning stability by reducing friction at the string contact points, resulting in smoother bends and better overall performance. These thoughtful hardware choices ensure that the instrument remains reliable through countless performances and rigorous practice sessions.

Sleek Design for Modern Players

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Dark limited-edition electric guitar pairs its cutting-edge features with a striking aesthetic. The blacked-out hardware, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish and minimalistic appointments create a bold, modern look that's perfect for the stage. Killer guitar, feels great my only knock is that the coil tapped p/u's aren't very rich or useful.

I've wanted a Gibson Les Paul Studio since about 2005, but being a teenager then it was never a possibility. I finally got it 20 years later and I couldn't be more happy! I picked up an Epiphone Les Paul Studio back in 2020 and this Gibson is just so much better! The all black hardware makes it even better! Absolutely recommend, even the employee's at guitar center were drooling over it. This thing sounds amazing, feels amazing, and just looks so cool! My only negative thing to say is the screw in the middle of the pick guard is silver/ I will probably put a little bit of nail polish or something on it so it's not noticeable.

I think the guitar looks great with the olive drab and blacked out color scheme. The neck feels good like a 60's sort of profile and the fit and finish seemed to be pretty good overall. Off the rack the setup seemed to be pretty nice and easy to play. I took the plunge and went with it in the end. At checkout I was surprised to see the quality of the semi rigid leather gig-bag it came with. I actually prefer that type of gig bag to some of the hard cases I've seen come with other Gibsons or higher end Epiphones. A poker chip comes with the case candy in case you feel like putting that on. When I got home I plugged it in and played for a few hours. So far I really like the sound of the BurstBucker Pickups, however personally I don't have much use for the coil tapping feature. Opening the back cavity I see that all pots and pickups are wired into a PCB with quick disconnect adapters, which would probably be useful if I wanted to change the pickups at some point, and the quality of all connections looked good. The nitro lacquer finish is nice and smells good but is a fingerprint magnet as you'd likely suspect. But some dunlop guitar polish and a soft rag fixes that before you put it to bed in the nice case it came with. Overall it sounds and plays great and I think it looks a lot better than some of the other boring colors that usually steered me away from owning a studio... I think I like the metal look of this even more than the common bursts on models that cost double. If you're on the fence you should go for it.
