Gibson Custom

collapse expand iconDescription

In 1963, Gibson was looking for an aggressively modern look for a new solid-body guitar, so they turned to automotive designer Ray Dietrich. Dietrich had been responsible for both the sporty Packard Boat Tail Speedster and the iconic Checker Cab designs, so Gibson had faith that he could design a stylish guitar that would appeal to the common man. The Firebird V, with its unique offset body and reversed headstock, made rock-and-roll history from day one.

The Gibson Custom Shop proudly presents this detailed and exacting replica of this renowned instrument, correct in the contours, dimensions and construction. From the multi-piece, mahogany-and-walnut neck-through design to the deluxe banjo tuners and hot-stamped 3-ply pickguard, it's a guitar that oozes vibe. The custom-wound AlNiCo V mini-humbuckers deliver the classic scorching tones that first made the Firebird a standout success. For fans of classic rock and blues and classic design, you won't want to pass this one up. Includes deluxe hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
