    I wanted a tighter sound from my snare, along with a more wooden pop sound from my rim shots; hence I ordered the wooden Snare rim from Gibraltar. This rim is very well made and had a perfect fit on my DW Snare (14" 10 lug). All it took was some slight tweaking and I was off to playing in less than 10 minutes. The rim, with it's higher reveal, allows for more rim/snare pop on the notes I want accented and awesome sounding rim shots on the softer parts. This thing sounds awesome in the studio when I record my drum tracks with my band, and is highly recommended to those who want a professional sound and a great sounding snare. Kudos Gibraltar!
