The Genelec 8040B 6.5" Powered Studio Monitor delivers professional-grade performance for discerning engineers and producers. The bi-amplified 8040B is the latest generation of Genelec's venerable 8000 Series, offering enhanced power, lower distortion and an even flatter frequency response. Its Minimum Diffraction Enclosure provides an expansive soundstage, while the ingenious reflex port achieves deep, articulate bass without compression. For project studios, editing suites and nearfield monitoring, the 8040B is ideal.

Advanced DCW Waveguide for Unparalleled Imaging

Genelec's patented Directivity Control Waveguide maximizes the 8040B's stereo imaging and frequency balance, even in difficult acoustic environments. Its optimally rounded edges and gently curved surfaces reduce diffraction, resulting in a wide and uniform frequency response on and off axis. Listening fatigue is minimized, allowing for extended work sessions with consistent clarity and detail.

Iso-Pod Decoupling for Isolation and Positioning

Each 8040B ships with a custom Iso-Pod, which decouples the monitor from its surface to prevent acoustic coloration. The Iso-Pod also provides versatile adjustment of vertical tilt and horizontal swivel, enabling the acoustic axis to be aimed precisely at the listening position. For wall mounting or floor stands, integrated mounting points are included on the rear of the enclosure.

Powerful Amplifiers and Advanced DSP

With a potent 130W Class D amplifier for the woofer and 90W for the tweeter, the 8040B delivers high SPL and transient response with vanishingly low distortion. Sophisticated DSP provides driver overload protection, equalization, delay and room response controls for optimal tuning in any environment. Magnetic shielding makes the 8040B suitable for use near video monitors.

Compact Yet Capable

Despite its 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter, the 8040B's Minimum Diffraction Enclosure measures just 9.8" x 7.4" x 10.9". However, its frequency response of 45Hz to 25kHz belies its small size, rivaling the performance of much larger systems. For discerning professionals seeking a highly accurate monitoring solution in confined spaces, the Genelec 8040B is the clear choice.
