I use it to store my 4/4 violin. This case is nicely made and I like that I can lock it.
Good case, good value

I bought an old 4/4 fiddle at an auction, whose case was falling apart. I tried to fit it into the cases of some friends, but there was always a problem (body too long, bridge too high). This case had good reviews, so I gave it a try. It was also on 15% discount, It was delivered in 4 days. There was plenty of room for the fiddle, room for an extra long bow (another problem with a friend's case), and compartments for rosin and chin rest. A really nice, sturdy case that looks good and will give solid protection for years to come. I have played resonator guitar in bluegrass for years, and want to learn fiddle. This case will provide mechanical and weather protection I'll need for any future use.

The clips for the bows are not rounded and I'm afraid that perhaps they could damage bows with extended use. Luckily, I was able to take the clips off my old case and very easily screw them into my new gator case. I also added a velcro strap at the neck. The violin sits a bit unconventionally, but I think that is so the back of the violin doesn't rest on the back of the case which seems to be a good thing. I also bought a moordian case cover, because I wanted more storage space and backpack straps. Not as light as my last case, but everything seems to be made much better.

What size of a person does this fit? Tall, medium or short? Grand kid is 12 and about 5.5'
It may be a bit big on them, but at 12, it won't be for long. I would say they would be fine with this since they can grow into it as they learn.
