Description

The Furman Merit M-8LX Power Conditioner is the perfect low-cost AC power solution for any rackmount audio system. The Merit M-8LX has eight switched AC outlets in the rear panel to power and protect all your equipment with up to a 15-amp load.

The Furman Merit M-8LX protects your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressors. The fast-acting suppression circuit quickly responds and clamps transient voltages to safe levels. An RFI/EMI interference filter works to prevent noise from fluorescent lights, certain dimmers, radio transmitters, and similar sources of electronic pollution from contaminating the AC line and from there, leaking into sensitive audio, video, or computer circuits. NRTL/TUV listed.

The Furman Merit M-8LX Power Conditioner features 2 slide out, swiveling light fixtures to provide discreet illumination of your equipment on stages, in studios, and in other dark places. A dimmer knob lets you adjust the lamp brightness to just the right level.

cool unit

I love this unit the lights pull out and light up my rack and all my components plug in this baby so I never hear any hum,buzz or what ever noise from my speakers 6 stars

Good, but not great.

I recently purchased this unit to run my BBE 482i, Rocktron Hush Super C, Pod X3 Pro as well as my Line 6 Spider Valve head. Pros: Enough power outlets and good wall-wart spacing with a convenient front-panel outlet. The lights work well enough (unless you use it to light more than 4 racks, then it needs a really dark stage). Keeps power cables neat and is built strong. Con: It doesn't eliminate things like radio frequencies and other interferences completely. I still have trouble with these issues depending on the venue/room. All in all though. If you are looking for an affordable power solution that is solidly built that will keep your expensive equipment protected from surges, this is a great little unit. If you need something that completely kills rouge radio signals and other noises, consider spending a bit more on what is an IMO, a crucial piece of gear for a rack rig.

    Mounted in a 4U portable rack to power wireless microphone receivers, computer, iPad, and various peripherals. The retractable lights are a bonus. No more power strips. This is now my power distribution center when on location for small events.
