Exploring the Tone Master Pro | Fender

The Tone Master Pro | Fender
Description
The Fender Tone Master FR-12 1,000W 1x12 FRFR powered speaker cab is designed to deliver pristine, full-range, flat-response sound for today's digital guitar amp modelers and profilers. With its integrated 1,000-watt power amp, the FR-12 provides the headroom and clarity needed for both stage and studio use. Every tonal nuance of your amp simulations is reproduced with precision, making it an indispensable tool for players who demand accuracy and volume. The speaker's industrial design not only ensures excellent performance but also retains Fender's signature aesthetic for an authentic backline presence. Its robust construction and advanced features make it a standout choice for modern guitarists.
High-Powered Amplification for Stage-Ready Performance
The integrated 1,000-watt power amp in the FR-12 delivers exceptional headroom and dynamic range, ensuring your amp simulations are reproduced with clarity and precision at any volume level. Whether you're rehearsing at home or performing on stage, this cab provides the power needed to cut through dense mixes without distortion. Its high-efficiency design ensures consistent performance, even during demanding live sets. This powerful amplification setup lets you fully explore the capabilities of your digital modeler or profiler with uncompromised sound quality.
3-Band Active EQ for Customizable Tone Shaping
The 3-band active EQ on the FR-12 gives players precise control over their stage tone. With dedicated bass, mid, and treble adjustments, you can shape your sound to suit different venues or performance setups. Additionally, the high-frequency cut control allows you to tame harsh treble frequencies without affecting the signal sent to the PA. This thoughtful design ensures your onstage sound remains balanced and tailored, while maintaining the integrity of your main signal. Fine-tune your tone effortlessly to achieve optimal stage presence and clarity.
Flat-Response Design for Accurate Amp Simulations
Engineered for full-range, flat-response performance, the FR-12 reproduces every detail of your digital amp simulations with stunning accuracy. Its 12" speaker ensures balanced frequency response, delivering tight lows, articulate mids and smooth highs. This design allows you to hear your amp modeler exactly as intended, whether you're on stage or in the studio. By faithfully replicating your sound, the FR-12 ensures a consistent and reliable performance, making it a trusted companion for modern digital setups.
Durable Construction With Iconic Fender Styling
The FR-12 is built to withstand the rigors of touring and frequent use. Its rugged enclosure protects the internal components, while maintaining a lightweight design for easy transport. The industrial design is unmistakably Fender, blending functionality with a classic aesthetic that complements any backline setup. Designed for durability, this cab ensures reliable performance over time, whether it's in the studio or on the road. Its robust build and timeless styling make it a dependable and visually appealing choice for professional players.

I'm Furious!
Why did I wait so long to get one of these Fender FRFR cabs? One of the main complaints about FRFR's is most lack guitar amp feel, like the way an amp moves air. Not true at all with the Fender ToneMaster. For a 112 cab, good gracious this thing is unreal. Not even at half volume it can rattle windows and vibrate the walls. It moves all the air I need it to move! Best of all, I was able to truly hear my amp models, EQ, modulation, compression, literally everything that would run to the board and FOH, with no coloring of the sound from a guitar amp. In fact, played live the day after I bought it. Ran straight to FOH and used the FRFR for a little extra on the floor monitoring, tilted like a wedge as a bonus. I mean, seriously. What is not to love about this FRFR 112? It weighs right at 35 lbs. My days of lugging gear go way back, like loading in Marshall 212 JCM's that would leave you needing back surgery. Pound for pound, and for what it achieves in tone, volume, the ability to truly dial in patches, I would take this FRFR 112 over some back breaking rig any day of the week. If you are running a modeler in whatever capacity, stomp box or multi-effects, and not using one of these, sad to say you are doing yourself and your rig a huge disservice. If the 112 does not have enough gas, get the 212. With absolute certainty, using this for practice, building and saving patches as you want them to sound, and as a monitor or playing out if it is enough juice for the room, it is beyond my comprehension why anyone would not love this Fender ToneMaster FRFR 112. From the first thundering chord it had my heart pounding and put a grin on my face. Could barely believe what I was hearing. Huge shout out to the guys at the Richmond, VA GC. They were on point with this recommendation. If I had any complaint at all, it would be that it has only one input. But who cares? Buy two and run stereo effects! Just get one...or two! Even running backing tracks to jam and practice is mind blowing. Don't waste your money on cheap junk FRFR's. This is a clean pedal platform that is as close to the real feel of an amp you can get.

No.
Used this with the Tone X and UA Dream 65. While this will "may" fill your need for a clean to mildly over-driven' option for amplifying your modelers, I'm not sure it has enough sculpting power for heavier tones. I bought this with the intent of replacing my older and now out of production Tech 21 Power-Deuce, "Not the Power Engine with lame Celestion 70/80's" lol. After A/B'ing both with my trusty Radial unit, I have to say, I couldn't get the treble, tin'y, raspiness to disappear, while the Tech 21's have way more tonal sculpting power, with hi, lo, and input damping, and a horn defeat, I am truly disappointed, I hope others have a better experience. There has to be better modern options than this.

Extremely noisy amp. HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

OMG I don't know where the good reviews come from. At full performance volume "maybe" the noise floor is acceptable. At "bedroom" volumes the noise floor is roughly as high as the guitar volume. Completely unusable. Not sure why you need an EQ on a FRFR amp (isn't it supposed to be flat response?).
So good I want a second one!

I've been using a competitor's FRFR cab for a while but it was FAR too boomy and there was no way to tailor its EQ curve on it. The Fender Tone Master FR12 sounds and feels like a real amp. It's night and day from what I was using. I want a second one to run my Helix in stereo.

I have been running the TMP through the effects loop of my fender mustang GTX and thought how much better can the FRFR 10 or 12 be? I bought the 12 two days ago. The difference is incredible the FRFR 12 makes the TMP sound like the tone master amps the mustang could not replicate that sound.

Can you plug an audio interface such as the scalett 2i2 directly into this to use amp sims with on a computer or do you have to use a modeling pedal?
No, you can't. You can use the Line Out on the amp and plug it into the interface.submitted2 years ago

How does this amp perform with single coil pickups, does it put out that nasty buzz
The amp has nothing to do with single coil noise issues. It will reproduce anything the guitar sends it.submitted2 years ago
