Pickguard Mistake
I wanted my standard Mexican jazz bass to look more fancy. I place some copper tape under and around the pickup hole, to reduce the typical hum jazz basses are known for. My first replacement pickguard was not an offical fender part, but was an off brand name and would not line up with the holes. I discard it and I then bought a Fender brand for afew dollars more and it fit just great. without any modifcations. If I would have pick the right one the first time, I could have saved some money. so, save your money , I lost mine and learn from my mistake.

Does not fit on all standard Jazz Basses
I bought this for a MIM fretless Jazz I bought back in '05. I tried to put it on but I couldn't get it all the way on because it overlapped where the volume/tone selectors are. I ended up cutting/filing it down so it could fit. It was hard to file it down to just the right length so up close you can see where I botched it a little bit. It still looks good from a distance but I'm still a little disappointed because I didn't think it would be necessary to do any "after-market" work on it even though it says it fits all standard Jazz basses.

Everything seems to match up except for the pickup slot. It isn't the correct size for my standard jazz bass. Very disappointing!!
I will only replace with Fender parts and would buy again!

I selected this Fender replacement pick-guard to highlight a new paint scheme on my Fender American Pro Jazz bass. Alignment was perfect and it really looks great!

The pick guard was manufactured incorrectly. The hole for the pick up was too small. I had to buy a metal file and a new electric drill bit and perform amateur surgery to get it installed. Pretty pearl pick guard got kind of chewed up and looks like it. If I would have known the part was going to be so shoddy, I never would have bought it. Shame on somebody!

Disappointed that it didn't fit right. Modified it to fit over the pick up and it doesn't line up with control pick guard. A fender product for a fender jazz bass. Looks nice but should've just taken 5 minutes or less to install.
