Timeless Fender Bass Tone
At the heart of the Player II Jazz Bass are two Alnico V single-coil pickups that deliver that legendary Fender bass tone you know and love. These vintage-inspired pickups produce a warm, punchy sound with well-defined mids and crisp highs that cut through any mix. The bridge pickup provides the iconic growl and percussive attack perfect for funk grooves and slap bass, while the neck pickup yields mellow, rounded tones.

Fast, Effortless Playability
You'll feel right at home on the Player II Jazz Bass' smooth, modern neck. The maple neck boasts a comfortable C-shape profile and a silky satin finish on the back for effortless playability. The 9.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard and 20 medium-jumbo frets are ideal for any playing style. And the 4-saddle standard bridge ensures precise intonation and a customizable action to suit your preferences.

Dial in Your Signature Tone
With separate volume controls for each pickup and a master tone knob, the Player II Jazz Bass gives you the tools to dial in virtually any bass tone you can imagine. Want a bright, cutting tone for slap funk grooves? Roll off the neck pickup and crank the bridge. Looking for a fat, saturated sound for dubby basslines? Blend both pickups and add some grit with the tone control. You can even switch between pickup combinations with the flick of a switch, for instant tonal variety in the studio or live on stage.

Legendary Fender Craftsmanship
The Player II Jazz Bass exemplifies Fender's renowned craftsmanship and attention to detail. The synthetic bone nut and vintage-style disc string trees promote exceptional tuning stability. Open-gear tuning machines maintain precise tuning even under heavy string bending. The 3-ply pickguard and nickel/chrome hardware give the bass a classic Fender look that will never go out of style. With its smooth playing feel and iconic Fender vibe, the Player II Jazz Bass is sure to inspire your best bass playing for years to come.

For perspective, I am 53 and just picked up the bass in my later 30s. In my bass guitar journey I first did the Ibanez starter box and was very pleased with that for years...then, I needed something more. I kept trading (up) in my bass guitars thinking I wanted this style pickup or that style body or headstock even. I never left a review of any of them as it wasn't the guitars fault I wasn't in love with them, they were as exactly as described, I just didn't know what I wanted in a guitar...until now. No, this guitar is not for everyone, nor is it trying to be. It's a classic shape in a classic color. Minimalistic look in single coil and knobs, but that's why I chose this bass. I like the look of the darker wood neck. There is no neck dive as was with my Thunderbird. It does not weigh a ton like my previous Fender. The color (3-Color Sunburst) really resonates with me in person, as did my first Schecter, but the electronics went out in that one and the replacements were never the same color again. But this guitar? Visually - it's perfect for me. Weight, perfect - there, but not overburdening. Playability - feels like my fingers can dance along the fretboard - they can't, but if I knew what I was doing it would be dangerous. Sound - yep. As soon as I plucked that first string it played low and long, sustain is the most I have ever had, like I noticed I actually have to mute strings now, wild. I still don't get to play as much as I would like, but when I do she just feels right and it's good know she is there.
