Exceptional Pickups for Amazing Articulation

This limited-edition Jazz Bass in Oxblood is powered by Seymour Duncan Apollo Jazz Bass pickups, boasting an innovative linear humbucking design. These pickups utilize dual coils to eliminate unwanted hum while delivering enhanced punch and clarity. Handbuilt in Santa Barbara, CA, the Apollo pickups feature hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and vacuum wax potting for squeal-free output. This thoughtful engineering results in a warm, fat low end, articulate mids and crisp highs—perfect for delivering dynamic, noise-free performance. The seamless balance of power and precision makes these pickups a defining feature of this instrument. The British Racing Green finish comes with Fender Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups.

Modern C Maple Neck With Rosewood Fingerboard for Smooth Playability

The Player II Jazz Bass features a maple neck with a Modern C profile designed for effortless playability. The satin urethane finish ensures a smooth feel, while the 9.5" radius slab rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges offers unparalleled comfort during extended sessions. Narrow-tall frets and a 34" scale length provide precise note articulation and a familiar playing experience. The synthetic bone nut enhances tuning stability and improves resonance across the strings. This combination of ergonomic design and premium materials makes the neck of this bass an ideal foundation for fluid, expressive playing.

4-Saddle Bridge With Steel Saddles for Enhanced Sustain

The Fender Player II Jazz Bass features a 4-saddle bridge outfitted with single-groove steel saddles, ensuring optimal string alignment and stability. This design enhances sustain by maximizing the transfer of string vibrations into the alder body. The bridge's adjustability allows players to fine-tune intonation for a consistent performance. Paired with open-gear tuning machines, the hardware ensures reliable tuning even during demanding performances. The combination of robust construction and thoughtful design makes this hardware a standout component for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

  • Exactly what I was looking for

It plays even better than it looks, and it looks pretty rad. Based off the Fender setup specs, it did require some relief, action, intonation, and pickup height adjustments but nothing I wasn't comfortable doing myself. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

  • Beautiful dud.

I first saw this in store and was drawn to the oxblood finish, noiseless pickups, and roasted maple neck. I bought it even though I thought it wasn't a great value, and it was heavy (almost 10 lbs.) At home, I found the sound of the pickups to be surprisingly weak, and something about the bass itself prevented the notes from ringing out clearly or for very long giving it kind of a muddled quality. The neck felt nice, though the action was hard to get satisfyingly low. I don't get why they didn't include a nicer bridge on this one since the other Player II Modified basses at this price point have high mass bridges. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this bass. There was no info available on the specs of the bass when I first saw it in store. Not on the tag, not online, not anywhere. Eventually found out more. I returned the one I bought because it was damaged, it had a big gash in the side like it'd been dropped hard, even though it was new in box. When I was returning it the associate tried to convince me that the damage wasn't a big deal, that it would happen eventually anyway. That was an absurd suggestion, especially for an already overpriced item like this one. It was a very off-putting interaction.

Came out of the box set up pretty well, but it will definitely need some tweaking. The feel and tone are great. I've been using it to record, and it sounds solid. The British Racing Green is gorgeous, and although it doesn't affect how it sounds, it definitely makes you look dang good during a gig.
