It features a solid Sitka spruce top paired with laminated mahogany back and sides, optimized bracing for reduced mass and superior resonance, a Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle for greater sustain, and a Fishman preamp system that makes it easy to plug in without sacrificing the guitar's natural sound. Its lightweight mahogany neck features a comfortable, easy-to-play, slim taper C-shaped profile suitable for any playing style, and its walnut fingerboard and bridge further augment this instrument's vibrant tone. It is also equipped with a FIshman CD-1 preamp to ensure your plugged-in performances shine as well. With its superb playability, distinctive looks and unmistakable Fender vibe, the Fender Newporter Player is an instrument that proudly defies acoustic instrument tradition.

Fender guy

I have always been a Fender guy and have never bought into that "All Fender acoustics suck" garbage. My newest addition to my Fender acoustic collection is no different. I already own a California Series Redondo Player that is a fine instrument I have had for about 5 yrs and a DG-22 Flamed Maple I bought new in 1998.My new California Series Newporter in Midnight Wine will fit in just fine. Beautiful fit and finish, high level of over craftsmanship and super comfy neck and smaller than full Dred body size make it a joy to operate. plugged in the tone is fantastic and even on straight acoustic mode the overall tone may be a bit bright for some but the guitar seems to have opened up some after a week out of the box and I find its current sound quite acceptable. Plus scoring it on sale for 120 bucks off didn't hurt either. Will it blow Martin"s and Taylors off the stage? No... but this a good inexpensive instrument...Get one.

The plug to connect the guitar to the speaker is very cool because its not noticeable. Plug in at the area where you place the strap. The sound and feel of the guitar is amazing.

A great looking guitar with a sound and playability that belies its low price. I am repeatedly amazed that Fender produces such a great feeling neck in a relatively inexpensive guitar. Coupling that with a nice, vibrant sound and comfortably sized body, not to mention its stunning good looks, make this Newporter a winner in all respects.

I bought this beautiful guitar a week ago (on sale for $100 off). My first ever Fender. The color is amazing! The sound quality is great. It has a rich tone. I am really enjoying it. It's also nice that it's a little bit smaller - I have small hands. Lastly, I love the cutaway. 10/10.

I bought this guitar about a month ago. Sounds amazing but when I plug it in it sounds very tinny. When I got it I did replace the strings with Ernie Ball Earthwood Extra Light 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings. Could that be the issue?

I don't think the strings are an issue. Did you play it before you changed the strings?

Hi. I just bought this guitar. I assume it is acoustic / electric. I see the Knobs on top. Where do I plug it in? I am new to this.
