Description
The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV Special-Edition 40W 1x12 Redback guitar combo amp is an updated version of the legendary amplifier that’s been the heart of many guitarists’ rigs. It features modified preamp circuitry, smoother-sounding spring reverb and updated aesthetics for a powerhouse blend of sound and style. This special edition Hot Rod Deluxe IV features a 12" Celestion Redback speaker, with a tight well-controlled low end, detailed midrange and more relaxed treble that still delivers balanced responsiveness and superb playability. Additional features include three selectable channels (Normal, Drive and More Drive), reverb effects, a black textured vinyl covering with a lightly aged silver grille cloth, and a slew of controls for precise sound-shaping.

    This Redback speaker makes the HRD amp a completely different thing. I've played it with an assortment of different speakers in the past and nothing makes this amp become more alive than the Redback. The overall sound reminds me of what a good black-faced Twin Reverb should sound like.

    I'm told that the Redback is heavier. How much extra weight is the Redback speaker compared to the standard V celestion?
