The Fender Blues Junior Lacquered Tweed 15W 1x12 Combo Amp blends retro esthetics with contemporary flexibility. This 15W, all-tube combo amp is housed in a stylish lacquered tweed cabinet and powered by a pair of EL84 Groove Tube output tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes for rich, dynamic tone. Its 12" Jensen C12-N speaker delivers crisp highs, warm lows and natural midrange. Renowned Fender reverb provides ambience, while the FAT boost switch adds midrange punch. The sparkle circuit switch activates an extra high-frequency filter for chimey cleans. With simple but effective controls, this portable amp is ideal for blues, rock, jazz, country and more.

Vintage Appeal Meets Modern Playability

The lacquered tweed cabinet, vintage-style brown and gold grille cloth, and chrome control panel give the Blues Junior a retro flair. Its compact size, single 12" speaker, and lightweight build make it easy to transport to gigs or jams. The EL84 and 12AX7 tube combination provides 15 watts of warm, responsive power that works for any style. The FAT boost switch adds midrange girth for extra grit, while the sparkle circuit switch enhances highs for crisp, shimmering tones.

Little Giant

I've been playing guitar, mostly rock and blues, for about 50 years. I now play a Gibson Les Paul double cutaway pro with Burstbucker pro pickups. I have a Marshall MG50DFX amp...50 watts with a single 12" Eminence speaker...and it rocks pretty well. I was impressed until I tried out this little 15 watt Blues Jr. NOS. I tried out the regular Blues Jr. and this one side by side. I thought the NOS was beefier and better overall tone. Naturally, I baught it, took it home and tried it out next to the Marshall. At 5 on the volume, it blew the Marshall away full up. Plenty of overdrive. To me, you don't want so much distortion that your guitar sounds too muddy. This has excellent crunch and great harmonics. The Blues Jr. NOS holds a chord or note for MUCH longer than the Marshall did also. Light weight, great looks and killer sound. Buy this amp. Well worth the money. Anyone need a 50 watt Marshall out there?

Good, but not great

Heads Up: This is a nice size amp for your home, and very light to carry, and easy to use. But, it is NOT what you hear in any web demos for the clean channel. The best clean settings is Master at "10" to "12" and the volume to "3" and no higher. You will notice very little to very poor sound below "3", and when you hit "3" the sound kicks in. But, over "3" instantly turns dirty with distortion. So, there is nothing from "1" to under "3" setting. There is a clean sound with very little, or non-existent sound people call the Fender creamy, warm, chiming Fender sound (Reverb on "3" or less). Nope, not there. You will need the bigger Fender amps over $1,000.00 to attain that sound. Yes, you will get clean single notes, but if you strum, it gets dirty, and do not have a heavy strum hand too - more dirty. I have read many reviews, and people say there is just not enough "Head Room" with the tubes for a clean sound. I have heard fantastic clean sound on many videos on the web, but I notice they all microphone the amp to a powerful PA system to get better clean sounds, and also very little to no strumming. Some people say you need to buy a modification kit, or try adding a Tube screaming pedal to clean it up. Wow, that is not realistic for me. In conclusion, if you seek that clean Fender sound, you will not get it with this amp. There always be a little dirty sound there. As I said, I viewed many web video and I even copied their knob settings to no avail. I wasted many hours for 10 days of testing this amp. No, it was not defective amp at all. Just not what is advertised for a clean sound. As, for me, I bought one, then after 10-days of frustration trying find that Fender clean sound, I returned mine and back to the store, and shopping again. PS: It does have a Master and a Volume knobs, which is a big advantage many tube amps do not have. I would like to hear back what other people found with this amp in their homes, and not modified, and not microphone to PA system.

    Awesome amp, if you started with solid state or you're looking to upgrade your tube this is the amp for you. My buddies all have deluxes and deluxe reverbs and the only differences between those and this blues jr is the amount of sound output and a gain knob. So for 500 dollars less you're not missing much.

    I got this amp as a backup option as the customer before me had bought the last Princeton amp in stock. I purchased in store. It is a solid choice for most guitar players and is a good pedal amp. The drive tones are commonly sought after. The only real flaw that I could see in this amp, is that the cord is a soldered in connection, instead of a common AC plug-in cord. Minor gripe. If you are newer to guitar amps, I will say that this amp is a great option for anyone looking for a tube amp with a real spring reverb tank, that is more affordable than a Princeton or deluxe reverb.

    Bought this for small gigs. Couldn't lug around those large amps anymore. Great Fender tube sound, for guitar and harmonica, in a lightweight, easier to carry, amp.

    This amp sounds great at low volumes. It also cranks up so you could play with a band and at small medium venues. Fender should include a cover and a foot switch for those who need a foot switch.

    Overall vintage tone,love the Jenson speaker. Real versatile, good with pedals, although this amp has such a good tone I don't need pedals. Cosmetically, once again vintage Fender, love the tweed!

    How does it sound compared to the Fender Super Champ X2 amps?

    It's a bit warmer with a mellow tone compared to the Super Champ. The Super Champ has a bit of a crunch to it.

    Does it sound better than the Blues Junior IV? Is the reverb effect real or digital? Are these better than Marshall Origin and Vox AC series?

    As far as sound goes it would be roughly the same as the Blues Junior IV, as far as comparing it to the Marshall and Vox it all comes down to personal preference. The Marshall and Vox amps have what's called a "British tone" where the Fender will have more of an American sound to it.
