I loved the look this pickguard gave to my Strat. The only downside is the price but hey if you really want that look, you gotta have it!
Excellent upgrade from my stock pickguard

worth the money, although twice the price of cheaper pickguards, this Fender pickguard slipped right into place. Its thickness also suspends the pickups solidly. My black pearl design enhanced my sunburst strat perfectly and transformed the look of my strat.
Not an item you typically buy over and over.

Item looks great. Picked up at store- service was great as well. Although this was an 11 hole version, Some of the holes did not line up on my Mexican Squire from the mid- 90´s. Had to drill some new ones. Seems a little silly not to have those standard or to point out the differences in the marketing material and offer pickguards appropriate for your model.
You can't beat genuine Fender parts!

Would this fit the American Special strat ?
There are two different types of pickguards that Fender makes. They have the same number of holes, they just have the holes in different places around it. Worst case scenario you would have to drill a couple of screw holes. Other than that it will drop right into the place.submitted6 years ago

If this pickguard were to be flipped over could it fit a left handed guitar? Is the back finished just like the front is?
As long as the number of holes is the same then you'll be good. The only modification that would have to be done is the "face side" has beveled edges around the outside of the pickguard along with the holes inside it. You would have to bevel the edges to get some of the components to sit flush but other than that it should work.As long as the number of holes is the same then you'll be good.
