I have had and played a lot of strats in my life but always was a Tele Guy. This strat has changed my mind it is an American Pro II thinline in white blond it is an incredible instrument. Fit and finish is flawless and the tones are amazing from lush and deep to that quack of a Strat but with depth and presence. The push push on the tone control really brings that part of the guitar to life. The sustain is another surprise it goes on forever and is clear and not muddy at all. I have read and watched reviews that say this is just another Strat with their signature sound I disagree this instrument is just ultra smooth and almost bell like in its delivery and clarity but it can snap your head up when picked hard. Since I am a child of the 60s we really didn't have a lot of pedals around then maybe a wah and a fuzz box MAYBE, we depended on the tubes of our amps as they heated up to provide what is commonly now called gain I believe. I still play through my 68 Ampeg Reverbojet and it loves the input form this guitar they play well together bringing the best out in each other. The action and deep C neck are a dream out of the box again smooth and easy to play. Since I just received this guitar a couple of days ago I am giving it time adjust to my environment before I do a setup to my personal preferences I'm thinking it will be a tweak or two to truly make it mine. The Vmod pickups are truly a great choice to interpret the voice of this guitar not at all overbearing or harsh unless you ask them to be then they do a fine job and stand out in the mix. My only regret is that my talent doesn't do justice to this gorgeous instrument. Hats off to Fender on this one they got it right and nailed it down. If you can find one locally go play it and see for yourself. Also a shout out to Guitar Center for getting this to me in NC from California in about 3 days in perfect condition.
