Description
The Fender Telecaster was born in the fall of 1951, inspired by new technology sweeping the nation known as television. "Telecasts" were the wave of the future and Leo Fender’s Telecaster was on the forefront of guitar innovation. It remains to this day one of the most iconic instruments in all of popular music, and for 2021, the Fender Custom Shop created on homage to that original instrument. The Limited-Edition 1951 Telecaster Relic features a two-piece select ash body, a flame quartersawn maple neck with a “V” profile and a vintage compound-radius fretboard with 21 narrow tall frets for a comfortable feel and smooth playability. Hand-wound ’50–’51 Blackguard pickups are connected to ’51 modified “Nocaster” wiring along with a black phenolic pickguard, a ’51–’54 Tele bridge with brass saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, a bone nut and disk string tree. A deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity are also included.
