The EVANS Genera dry batter snare head is a 10-mil, single-ply head with a 2-mil overtone control ring on the underside that "floats" with the head, eliminating excessive overtones. Additional dry vents eliminate stray harmonics.

Sweet and Tasty!

I have this head on a Pork Pie Big Black Brass Drum, and I must say that it is the best part of my set other than the snare itself. The precision and dryness of the attack sings, but doesn't choke or wind the drum. Its sensitive, but can take a serious beating. Tune it high for ultra precise ghost notes and rolls, or low for a fat "TAK" sound any harder playing musician would love. I refuse to play with anything less. The porting is a must! It allows the snare to play unhindered by dampening while still maintaining the ring perfectly.

Think Twice

I got the reverse power dot snare head a while back and it was amazing, i had to replace it and was told that this head was great, and i was sadly mislead, Could Not Hear My Own Ghost Notes! Did not provide me with Power, Pop, and Dynamic Control, This Snare head has taken away my groovy power drumming, im definitely getting the reverse power dot back, If you need a head to provide High Attack with a Brighter Pop, and perfect for playing anywhere from LIGHT Ghostnotes to LOUD Dominance, the Reverse Power Dot is the way to go

I use this or unvented version Genera. The Genera Dry is perfect for a bit dryer sound and the Genera makes my brass DW shell retain a little more overtone. Both heads are my go to. Always sound great.

Easy to tune. No need for Moon Gel or Rings. Built in ring on bottom side of head reduces overtones and unwanted ringing.
