EVANS

collapse expand iconDescription

The EVANS G2 Coated 12" drum head is designed for drummers who want their drums to deliver a balanced blend of attack, depth and sustain for any musical style. Constructed from two 7-mil plies for consistency and durability, this innovative drum head features a specialized coating that provides additional warmth, focus and depth. Guitar Center is proud to offer drummers a versatile option for all their tom needs.

Coated for Added Tonal Control

The EVANS Genera G2 Coated 12" drum head utilizes a specialized coating to provide drummers more control over their tom tones. The coating helps focus the drum head's tone, enhancing the drum's natural warmth while also increasing its depth. These tonal benefits allow drummers to get a balanced, controlled response from their rack toms and a deep, resonant growl from their floor toms.

Two-Ply Design for Reliability

Built using two 7-mil plies, the EVANS Genera G2 Coated 12" drum head provides drummers with a highly durable playing surface they can rely on. The two-ply design not only helps the drum head better withstand the impact of drumsticks but also provides more consistency in terms of tone and performance. Drummers can rest assured that this innovative drum head will continue delivering great sounds show after show.

Bright and full

I have used evans G2 coated for 8 years. They have a consistency from head to head. It takes about 3 months of daily playing for me to replace them only because of the coating wearing down. I usually use these heads for live bebop and big band jazz. These heads have a brighter tone than normal coated heads. So, if you are used to the coated REMO Ambassador heads, the Evans G2 coated will have a brighter tone.

Been using Remo for decades. Tried Evans maybe 15 years ago and was not impressed. Got some Evans again to put on an inexpensive drum set I want to sell. Pulled the old Remos off put the new Evans G2 set on and the drums came alive. I like those Evans so I pulled the New Remos off my new drumset swapped them on the old drums and nothing exciting. Put the Evans on my new drums and they exploded with tone and volume. So side by side Evans has a better sound that I am looking for. Worth a try I would recommend.

I LOVE the sound of this drum head! Gives an almos tympanic tone if I roll off-center, but gives fabulous full and punchy tone when I dig nto the center of my MIJ floor tom.

I love these heads, they are so useful when you are micing up your drums. They are a good balance of overtones with not too much dampening. I would recommend these for studio situations or if you are playing a loud sound stage. The associate who helped me out was really awesome and direct in helping me find the right choice!

This product tremendously improved the sound. Even though I'm just a beginner this product made the set sound so much better that I find myself practicing more than before.

No. These heads make small toms sing and floor toms growl.
