EVANS

collapse expand iconDescription

The EVANS G2 Clear Batter drum head is a high-performance drum head built to excel. Evans designed their popular G2 series to provide an ideal balance of depth, sustain, attack and durability. This 2-ply, 7-mil drum head delivers a powerful yet focused tone with rich, controlled sustain—perfect for live shows or studio work.

Double-Ply Durability With Depth and Clarity

The G2 Clear features two plies of 7-mil film, resulting in extraordinary consistency and resilience. Its medium weight prevents overtones while allowing the drum's natural resonance to shine through. The dual-ply construction also helps the drum head maintain tuning and shape over time, even under heavy playing.

Versatile Tone for Any Style

With a blend of depth, sustain and attack, the G2 Clear works for any musical style. Its full yet focused tone makes small toms sing and bass drums growl. Jazz drummers will appreciate the drum head's warmth and sensitivity, while rock players will love its fat, punchy sound. No matter the genre, this drum head helps your set reach its full potential.

Amazing Head

The G2 head is without a doubt the best tom head i have ever heard. It is a very pure sound, with the perfect amount of punch, sustain, and tone. This is the top-of-the-line head i would recommend to anyone , for any genre. I gave these heads all 5.0, not because im lazy, because they deserved a 5.0 in all of those categories. If you get this head, you will not be disappointed.

Worst Tom head experience I've ever had

Maybe it was just me but I bought a brand new Tama birch/mahogany kit and I wanted to replace the stock g2's with fresh ones. I've never had a worse experience with a head before. The tuning was terrible. The sound was awful. I thought for a while my toms were possibly warped because I could never get them to tune well or sound good. Replaced them with Remo controlled sound clear and my goodness, night and day difference. They tuned so easy. The sound exploded off of them. Maybe it was bad heads I got but I will NEVER buy Evans Tom heads again. I still like some of the Evans snare batters. Giving 2 stars because the 16" sounded ok. But the 10" and 12" were the worst experience with Tom heads I've had.

Amazing product. The heads are easy to tune, very minimal adjusting needed. They can handle low to medium tuning very well. Durable but aren't too think. Just switched from Remo Emperors to Evans G2's and the G2's blow the remo's out of the water.

  • Works well for my needs
