Awesome!
The Emad Resonant head gives my drum a real punchy thump that I really love. The head decreased the amount of internal muffling needed because my old head didn't have a hole in it. Its sound is incredible and the interchangeable foam rings really change the sound of the head by taking out overtones. The firm ring increases attack and the softer ring gives the drum a round tone to it. I have heard cases that the ring would fall apart, but I haven't had that problem yet, only the little evans sign fell off. But overall, its one of the best resonant drum heads out there today.

Awesome head, but...
This head sounds awesome, but the foam rings break after a couple months of use. It really put a damper on how awesome this head sounded. With out the rings, the head sounds just like any other head. If you e mail evans, they will send you replacement. but i got tired of doing that. the just kept breaking. But the head does sounds great.

If you don't like overtones or paper thin sound get this head, I put it on a rouge 20x14" with an aquarium super kick II and it sounds bad ass
Great fit for my 20" DW kick

I had an ambassador on the reso side and just wasn't getting the depth and tone I was hearing in my head. Adding muffling killed the resonance (obviously), tuned up was too "bop" and tuned down it got flappy. Was looking for more depth and thump and and after I put on the EMAD reso head and tuned it up, I got what I was looking for. It may not work for everyone, but I was looking for a more rock, funk, fusion kind of tone and for a 20x18 maple shell DW, it's perfect.
I used this to upgrade!

Worked well, the porthole is a much better upgrade with the re-enforcement! Sounds very professional then the normal bass heads

I have always had such fantastic luck with Evans products! Not much to be said for a resonant head, but this one works fantastic! Love the ability to customize to my needs by adding a vinyl graphic to it! Beyond just the quality products, it is always nice to know. I can find it in stock when I need it and as a bonus, I can claim my points for more gear.
I would buy this product again

Great product, easy to add a little muffling if needed through hole.

Should the microphone port on a resonant bass drum head be on the left side if the drummer is a lefty? Just curious if there is any logic to it! Thanks, KP
Oh no, should we start selling left and right kick drum mikes? No logic. Thanks for asking.
