collapse expand iconDescription

The EVANS EMAD Heavyweight clear batter bass drum head 18" is double-ply, built to withstand the hardest-hitting players. Featuring two 10-mil plies for unparalleled strength, the EMAD Heavyweight provides a compressed yet wide-open tone with serious oomph. EVANS' renowned Level 360 collar allows for easy tuning and seating, ensuring studio-ready sound in an instant.

Externally Mounted Adjustable Damping for Total Control

The EMAD Heavyweight includes EVANS' patented Externally Mounted Adjustable Damping system with two interchangeable damping rings that enable drummers to adjust attack and focus without removing the head or reaching inside the drum. The thinner ring maximizes resonance and punch, while the wider ring boosts low end and shortens sustain for maximum power. Either way, drummers get iconic EMAD tone with the flexibility to shape it to their exact needs.

Punch and Power Without Compromise

Two plies of EVANS' premium 10-mil film provide the EMAD Heavyweight with an ideal balance of punch, depth and durability for players who demand volume and power. The double-ply construction withstands even the hardest hits while producing a fat, compressed tone that cuts through loud stage volumes and dense mixes. For drummers seeking maximum volume and projection, the EMAD Heavyweight delivers like no other.

Level 360 Seating for Quick, Perfect Tuning

EVANS' revolutionary Level 360 technology makes the heavyweight EMAD incredibly easy to tune and provides a wider tonal range than ever before. The Level 360 collar allows the head to seat properly, enabling fast, accurate tuning for a punchy, studio-ready sound right out of the box. Once tuned, the Level 360 collar helps the head hold its shape through hours of heavy playing. For demanding players, the combination of maximum durability and tuning ease makes the EMAD Heavyweight an ideal choice.

Very surprised!!

I've tried a ton of different heads on this kick throughout the years from all different brands. I change my kick head once a year in fear of breaking during a show. For the last 5 years I've been using a gmad with no problems. I'll admit that I was skeptical about this head. Being as thick as it is I didn't want that low volume choked out sound like the SK2. Put this on and wow!! Just as loud as a gmad but with a more focused punch, lots of low end while still getting the sound of the entire drum. No choking here! I'm using it with wood beaters and a remo falam patch. Front head is an eq3 with a kickport. I think I just found my new go to head. Sounds great!!

disapointed

I got this free from guitar center when I bought a new set about 6 months ago I was told it was tested by some professional heavy hitters and almost unbreakable. Well........I play at church and I practice on this new set maybe 3 time a month its a small church so playing loud is not an option. The heads outer ply has already ripped so I won't use this again

I put this drum head on and it sounded amazing right off the bat! Should I say right off the batter! I was very pleased and I will only use Evans heads on every drum piece.

Resonant head on 10 inch tom on a mapex 7 piece kit. Sounds great and built well. I switched from remo heads and the evans heads seem much better. They were easy to tune and sturdier quality than the old heads. I will definitely continue using evans heads on my other drum kits.

Strongest bass drum head available. Surprisingly great tone and the EMAD makes it versatile in choosing the right amount of muffling depending upon the situation. No more pillows or blankets Or dampeners Inside the drum.

Swapped this out for the coated emad that came with my kit. Really gives my 14x26 kick a nice controlled powerful sound.

Pure Awesomeness!! I heard the difference as soon as I put this drum head on. I received many compliments from sound engineers and bandmates as to how great my bass drum sounded! It made my bass drum sound round, punchy, and with lots of tone and depth. If your bass drum doesn't sound better with this drum head, you don't need another drumhead, you need another bass drum! Rock On!!
