Sound Shaping Technology Optimizes Tone

Evans' patented SST tailors the EC2 SST Clear Batter Drumhead 8" to the dimensions of any drum. Varying the density of the built-in damping ring produces full, resonant tone for each size. Unlike heads lacking SST, the EC2 SST Clear Batter Drumhead 8" provides balanced attack, sustain and tuning regardless of drum dimensions.

Two-Ply Design Delivers Controlled Resonance

Two plies of 7mil film give the EC2 SST Clear Batter Drumhead 8" durability and controlled vibration. The film dampens excess overtones while allowing fundamental tone to ring through. Attached to the underside, an Edge Control ring further refines the drumhead's voice by absorbing frequencies that could muddy the overall sound. The result is a drumhead with a broad tuning range and a clear, focused tone.
