    It arrived with the bridge and sound board loose. My daughter has never played it. I took her to school (she's boarding) and I found out she could never use her bass and had to borrow one of the school. I got the 5 year protection plan and I've been trying all summer to get the thing fixed. I thought I could just being it in to a Guitar Center as I was told when I bought it but no. The plan is through Asurion and it took 2 weeks to get the claim approved after much hassle only to have them tell me to ship it to be repaired. Where am I going to get a 6 foot box and padding to send this in? It will cost the same as having it repaired out of pocket. I should never have purchased the bass from guitar center but I thought a new bass from a big reputable company would do better than a small shop and a used bass. Waste of nearly 2 grand!

    Do the strings come on it?

    They do, but it is recommended that you swap them out soon after receiving the bass. The strings on them are usually moderate quality and they could have been sitting for a while.
