Doesn't change the tone when used in the effects loop. Only drawback is that there is a big volume change for a small amount of travel

Ok this was my first volume pedal ever I admit the Tuner out was a good idea but however the cons are greater then the pros. The string of the Ernie ball broke on me after 2 months and it took 2 weeks to get it repaired. Also I lose my high frequencies in the mix not this pedal is not worth it instead I changed to the Morley PWOV pedal and I am nothing short of impressed

I don't know what everyone was saying but this pedal DOES take away a lot of your tone. A lot of my high-ends were lost through this pedal. My swells don't sound completely full or something feels a bit off all the time. It came to a point where I only used it as a sound on/off switch. But for this price, I guess it's understandable. A great deal but not for serious pedal-users. But I gotta say the feel on this pedal is incredible. Very smooth and very comfortable. Felt like I was stepping on cotton candy.

I traded the 6166 for this pedal for the primary reason of using it as an expression pedal for my VoiceLive2. As with all of Ernie's pedals, it's built like a tank and stepping down on the gas for more expression is quite easy.
Theres a reason its a standard...

This pedal is everything you've heard from your friends. Awesome durability and construction. The only think that I can say would improve this pedal is like most volume pedals that this company makes, the bulk of the volume swell happens in the last 15-20% of the heel-to-toe action. This can be cumbersome at first until you get used to the motion. Great Volume Pedal!
