Ernie Ball

collapse expand iconDescription

Since 1962, the Ball family has been dedicated to crafting premium guitar strings that shape rock music. Continuing their passion for innovation, the Paradigm strings feature groundbreaking technology for superior break-resistance and tone. Paradigm strings deliver the iconic Slinky tone Ernie Ball is renowned for, now fused with ultimate strength for long-lasting durability. Guitarists everywhere can now enjoy their favorite Ernie Ball tone without fear of breakage. The Paradigm Regular Slinky set is a must-have for guitarists seeking maximum durability and tone.

Revolutionary Construction for Unmatched Strength

Ernie Ball combines a state-of-the-art wire drawing process with their patented Reinforced Plain String (RPS) technology to dramatically boost tensile strength more than traditional strings. The RPS technology reinforces the plain strings, preventing breakage at the ball end.

Plasma-Enhanced Wrap Wire for Ultimate Corrosion Resistance

Each Paradigm string undergoes an advanced plasma cleaning process, providing superior corrosion and sweat resistance. Ernie Ball's patented treatment helps repel buildup, keeping strings clean and bright without compromising tone.

The Iconic Slinky Tone Endures

While Paradigm strings are engineered for maximum strength and durability, they still deliver Ernie Ball's legendary Slinky tone—bright, balanced, and clear with solid mids, warm lows, and crisp highs. The slight increase in string core size required for the RPS technology does not negatively impact the familiar feel or intonation Slinky users know and love.

90-Day Guarantee

All Paradigm electric guitar strings come with an unprecedented 90-day guarantee. If your Paradigm strings break or show signs of rust within 90 days, Ernie Ball will provide a free replacement set. The Paradigm series gives players the best of both worlds—famous Slinky tone and feel combined with ultimate strength and longevity.

Long Lasting And Great Response

I've been using the 10-46 Paradigm strings for a few years. They sound and respond great on my guitars. They've outlasted every other set of strings I've ever used. I keep them on a Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster. Even after not playing for months, the strings still sound good and hold their tuning. I don't recommend keep them on your guitar that long, but it's nice to know.

Rusted faster than regular slinkys.

Nope. Don't buy them. I put these on and just after 2 weeks, the plain strings have already rusted. I wipe down my guitars after every use to minimize corrosion and rust, but to no avail with these. Regular strings last me 4-6 weeks without rusting, and that's with nearly everyday use. These were used and treated no differently and rusted twice as fast. The replacement procedure is a bigger pain than it's worth. You have to save the original foil wrapper, fill out a non-mobile friendly form, print off a pdf, package it all up, and then ship it off to EB. Nearly everything about these strings suck.

I've been using these strings for about a year now, and coming from the original ernie ball strings, these strings have great tone, and they last so much longer.
