Aluminum Bronze Strings

Just put these (medium light) on my Ovation Custom Elite and I am very impressed. The projection and clarity are unsurpassed. I have tried D'addarios, EB earth woods, elixirs, and a few others, but none match these in my opinion. They have a very bright sound when strumming and picking, but if you use your fingers or a lighter picking technique you can get a nice dark sound out of them. They have stayed in tune fairly well since installing them, and from what i can tell so far (had them on for about three weeks) they are durable. If you are looking for a versatile set of strings with great projection, tone, and clarity, the Aluminum Bronzes are for you.

HATE them....

I just put a set of the Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze light strings on my Acoustic Larriv?e OM-40R and I lost that lovely warm tone that makes that guitar so great. The strings are kind of harsh and brittle sounding.... bright on the high end and did nothing for the low end and actually the bass seemed flat and boring..... The OM-40 sounded much better with Phosphor Bronze medium strings in my opinion. I will be taking these strings off and putting on some standard phosphor bronze strings to regain that sweet warm tone. I know some will disagree but that is my take on these strings... not impressed at all.. pretty disappointing. I'm sure they have some redeeming qualities for some on some guitars.. so I give 2 stars.

I put a set of these strings on when they first came out and they lasted longer than any string I've ever used on an acoustic guitar. I teach on this guitar everyday except Sundays. Very very long lasting

  • I would buy this product again and again.

Awesome strings! Crisp and clean tone. However, do not age well.
