Description
M-Steel Super Slinky Electric Guitar Strings are made of M-Steel, short for Maraging Steel, a superalloy used in high-stress applications for the aerospace and defense industries. The wound strings are comprised of a patented Super Cobalt alloy wrapped around a Maraging Steel hex core wire, producing a richer and fuller tone with powerful low-end response. M-Steel plain strings are comprised of a specially tempered steel for maximum fatigue resistance. A patented winding of steel around the ball end of the plain strings reduces slippage, breakage and stays in tune better than conventional plain strings. Super Slinkys are one of the most popular gauge combination preferences by guitar players.

I was skeptical at this price point but wow!
I have been playing guitar for 40 years just to give you an idea of where I am coming from. I have used every string out there over time and always ended up back at my Slinky's. Well as the title states, I was seriously skeptical at the price point. I burn through a pair of slinky's every two weeks so this could be a costly adventure for me. However, I was blown away at the sheer tone and how bright these strings are.The strings also feel great to play. The true test will be to see how long they last while still maintaining the quality of tone, brightness, and responsiveness. If I can get 4 weeks out of these then the price point difference is worth it to me. I really didn't think it was possible EB and I thought it was more hype then anything else. They truly do sound amazing now if the quality is there as well 4 weeks out I'm sold. Kudos, you guys and gals made a killer set of guitar strings!

No definition in the low-end, weak strings
The first thing I've noticed with these strings is that they lack any definition in the low-end compared to Ernie Ball nickel wound strings. Playing the sixth string after a chord doesn't produced a defined rythm progression. The coating on the non-wound strings started rusting within days of installing the strings, even though they've been cleaned every time after playing. On the sixth day, the .009 string broke during a 3 semitone bend. Maybe these strings can unlock a new world of tone, but I just haven't had the time to do so -- before they broke. I am extremely dissapointed.

They sound and feel awesome. No rust on high strings. I've played pretty heavy on these strings and they do whatever I need them too. I'd recommend
Great strings! Been using them a very long time.

Quite simply, these are my string of choice. They sound amazing and have a lot of sustain. I use 10's for my Les Paul and they have a great tonal flow from bluesy riffs to hard rocking solos. I would recommend them to any one for a solid durable string.
Great strings for my Gretsch Center Block Jr.
