M-Steel Hybrid Slinky Electric Guitar Strings are made of M-Steel, short for Maraging Steel, a superalloy used in high-stress applications for the aerospace and defense industries. The wound strings are comprised of a patented Super Cobalt alloy wrapped around a Maraging Steel hex core wire, producing a richer and fuller tone with powerful low-end response. M-Steel plain strings are comprised of a specially tempered steel for maximum fatigue resistance. A patented winding of steel around the ball end of the plain strings reduces slippage, breakage and stays in tune better than conventional plain strings. Hybrid Slinky Electric Strings are a perfect match for those who like the ability to use the combination of Super and Regular Slinkys.

I put these on expecting to last a long time and to compare these side by side to D'Addario NYXL. I play for worship at my church and the first week with them the A string broke while performing. The next week it was the D string. The strings gave me a one week break before the B string busted. I'm not putting it out of the question that maybe this came from a bad batch of strings but it's personally too much risk to have three strings break in a months time while on stage.

The sales manager from the Highland Park store was very knowledgeable and helped me discover these strings. Great tone, higher output, and longer life!

These strings are fantastic! They really breathed a new life into my tone and helped me achieve THAT little something that I was missing from it. They feel pretty normal to me... maybe a slight bit more taught than normal slinkys but nothing that takes any time or effort to get used to. The payoff in tone far outweighs the feel. I was not impressed with the COBALT strings at all. These on the other hand have won me over. Now only time will tell how long that tone lasts before having to purchase new strings.
