collapse expand iconDescription

Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for bassists of all types since the early 1960s. The Super Slinky Roundwound Bass Strings are Ernie Ball's most popular bass strings, used by both amateurs and professionals alike. Made from nickel-plated steel windings wrapped around tin-plated, hex-shaped steel core wire, these strings produce a well-balanced, versatile tone perfect for any playing style.

Nickel-Plated Steel for Bright, Balanced Tone

The nickel-plated steel wrap wire gives the Super Slinky strings a crisp, bright tone with serious punch. The roundwound construction adds clarity and definition, allowing each note to sing through. Whether you prefer fingerstyle funk, hard rock, or jazz, these strings have the versatility to handle it all.

Premium Materials for Reliable Performance

Ernie Ball uses only the freshest, highest-quality materials to ensure consistent performance and tone. The Super Slinky strings are made in the Coachella Valley of Southern California using state-of-the-art winding equipment. You can rely on these strings to deliver the tone and feel you want gig after gig.

Trusted by Rock Legends

Ernie Ball strings have been trusted by countless rock bassists since the 1960s. Legends like John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses, and Mike Kerr of Royal Blood choose Ernie Ball strings for their tone and dependability. When you string up with Super Slinky bass strings, you're in good company.

The Perfect Balance of Tone and Playability

With gauges of .045, .065, .080 and .100, the Super Slinky bass strings strike a perfect balance of rich, full tone and easy playability. The lighter gauges make bending and fretting a breeze while still delivering a fat, punchy bass tone. Whether practicing at home or rocking an arena stage, these strings will inspire your best bass lines.

Favorite Strings

These are my favorite set of strings for the bass. I love the sound Ernie Ball strings have. You can get a real deep sound or turn the tone up on your bass and get a real nice tone. These strings last me about 4 or 5 months without using any string cleaner or polish.

Defective D string

Fresh pack of strings for a new Squier P/J. I've been playing bass approaching 30 years, so I KNOW how to string, intonate, adjust bridge saddles, etc. The D string just kind of explosively unraveled. And since it did, this was the second time that an EBSS string did that, only it was the A string, I think. Now I remember why I didn't buy them for years!
